In 2018 I rented a studio apartment for my son who is mentally ill, the lease manager at the time was aware of his disability and was emphatic to his situation. After she left the new people were not as understanding, even after I informed them of his illnesses and that he had a case manager that was also available to help them speak to him on the ocassion his illness prevented him from speaking to me. In January 2023, after he had been ***** acted multiple times and call the cops on multiple times we were asked to move him out. I asked if he was being evicted, and was told no, nothing was being filed in court, but they did not see him as a good fit going fwd and other clients were complaining and his illness was causing disturbances too often. When I signed a lease and paid a security deposit, we were asked to move (not evicted) by Feb 5th 2023, I paid rent for January 2023 and was out by February 1st when I notified ****** the agent in the office via txt. She never notified ** of any issues in the apartment after I moved, and said I would be receiving my check within 30 days, I txted and spoke to her 15 days after moving, again at 30 days and also mailed a notice to them. To date I still have not received my security refund. It is hard to find rooms or apts for an able bodied individual further more one that is mentally ill, I have expressed to them this info as well as the fact that we need that money to help him, to date they have not been responding to me or returned the money.It was not fair to have to move him because he was calling the cops for help or because his illness had him scared and now I feel as though they are further discriminating against him by not returning the deposit because they know he can not properly advocate for himself.Thank you
