I am writing today in hopes that the BBB can assist me in either obtaining my deposit back, or getting the contracted work done. I signed a contract and provided a 16K deposit on 5/16/22. The work included paver pathways, a new extended pool enclosure and lanai. I was told the start date would be in Sept/Oct 2022. I scheduled and paid deposits to other contractors (pool resurfacing and landscaping) based on the dates ******************* (the company owner) gave me. October passed, with no communication. I texted ****, emailed ******** and called ****** for over a month to get a status. When I finally got a response, I was told they were a few weeks behind due to hurricane ***. So, I gave them some leeway and waited patiently. Another month went by and no word from anyone. I reached out continuously for over 5 weeks with no response. On 12/6/22, **** finally got back to me, stating power was out at his warehouse and he would get back to me with a start date the next day. He never did. I reached out several times a week after that for 6 weeks straight before I finally got a response (on 1/20/23). **** texted to me: Should be w/i next 2 weeks, Jan start. Now it is 2/2/23 and no one has showed up. Once again, I am reaching out to them and no one responds. Please help me! I do not believe I am the only client they are doing this to. There is no viable reason for them to continuously delay my project, lie about start dates, and ignore my attempts to contact them for months at time. I fear that it is their intent to keep my money and never do the work. Maybe they are purposely doing this in hopes that I will cancel the contract so that they can keep some or all of my deposit (i.e. scam). I ask for your assistance in holding this company, and its owner, accountable by having them either return my entire deposit or immediately commence work on my project.
