May 18, 2022, signed a contract with Build Options LLC, for demo, site prep, form pour and finish. Same day, signed contract for site prep, culvert, culvert installation. May 19, gave check for half the cost, $5,300.00.After asking the length of time, I was told by *********************** that it would be 3 days at most. I called several times as to their start date, they said they would be there but didn't show, There was always an excuse. Around Dec 12, 2022, the work began. I informed ***** and ******* (secretary) That I would be gone between Dec 18 - 27, and hoped the driveway would be finished when I returned. I continued to receive broken promises. January 6, 2023, ***** informed me they picked up the culvert and that specifications changed the first of the year and it would be more money. On Jan 10, 2023, ***** presented me with a bill of $2,000.00, which was $1200.00 culvert increase, a skid fee of $750, and irrigation pipe removal of $50. I felt trapped. I told ***** I felt he was taking advantage of an old lady. Within minutes of that conversation, ******* called to tell me I had best not be telling people that they are taking advantage of an old lady.As of today, Feb 12, 2023, the culvert has not been inspected. My irrigation system on the left side of my yard is not working, and I have to continue to park on my lawn or across the street. This has been extremely stressful for me and I need my driveway ro be completed.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/24/2023

Business response taken verbally by BBB:

We stared her job before the hurricane hit and her job was delayed due to the hurricane destroying half of the coast. She was ok with that and decided she didn't want us to do any work while she wasn't there. She went on vacation 3 times during the job and expected me to drop everything for every other job when she wanted me to continue her job. We completed 3/4s of the job and feel we were used. She sent us a letter stating she didn't want us to continue services, keeping half of the money when all we had left to do was pour concrete. She also sent us away when she had company at her house when we were scheduled to be there for work. If she wants us to finish the job we would need to renew a permit and she will need to pay for the concrete upon delivery of materials before we pour. It will take more time than normal as the *************** area is undergoing major reconstruction efforts due to the hurricane. She needs to reach out to us to confirm that she wants us to finish the job and we will move forward, but she will need to be patient as there will be delays due to hurricane reconstruction.
