On July 27th, 2022 we had planned to get braces put on my daughter with Lakes Park Pediatric Dentistry. We went through all the proper steps with insurance and billing, paid them a 600$ payment for our end of the deposit. Her scheduled date to have the braces put on was on October 4th, unfortunately we had a major hurricane come through the area and were unable to complete treatment with this office or get in for our appointment at the scheduled date. (It is understandable because most of the town was out of power and areas were severely damaged.) Due to the storm and damage we received with our jobs and home we HAD to relocate to another state. I called multiple times before our move to try to speak with someone in the office and was unsuccessful at reaching anyone. On October 24th I spoke with the office manager ******* over the phone and explained that we had to move due to the storm and I would like to start the process to have a refund of our 600$ deposit, since we were no longer able to receive treatment with them due to having to move, she informed me that it would not be an issue at all to get a refund of the 600$ AFTER they receive payment from the insurance for the cost of the retainer placed in my daughters mouth, and to please email her all of my daughters info along with a forwarding address. I sent ******* an email that same day with all information.I then called on November 21st asking for an update or status of payment from insurance for the office and ******* informed me that she was unsure if insurance had made a payment, that she would check and get back to me on it. On 11/30 I received a email from the office with no signature attached stating that I was not getting a refund at all because we had moved and my daughter still had the spacer in her mouth. My daughter never received braces, this company was paid 339.00$ by insurance for the spacer placed, they took a 600$ deposit and will not refund it even though they never put the braces on her, and they will not answer any emails or calls to/from to me. This is actually The 2nd billing issue I have had with this office, I was over charged when paying for a service for my son and after calling my insurance company they informed me I never should have been charged that amount and need to ask for a refund. So they seem to have unacceptable billing practices and lack of communication. I am reaching out to make you aware of these issues and aware of the way this office is choosing to do business.I have no control over the weather and natural disasters, we HAD to move and had no choice in the matter. This office is making an already hard and stressfully time worst by the completely unprofessional way this had been handled. I have asked for the dentist to call or email me and I have had no response.I find this entire situation unacceptable and I hope you at the BBB can help me find a resolution to this.
