First and foremost, we are so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and we absolutely want to rectify this hardship for you. As you know your repair came with a 2 year / ****** mile warranty, which we want to honor. After the initial repair, you brought the vehicle back in to address a leak, which we did while you waited. Additionally, you called in on 7/15/24 @ 10:34am and spoke with ****** to inform him of the leak and the noise. He apologized to you and told you to bring it in, to which you replied, "Alright, let me try to make arrangements. I will get back with you." To date, 8/20/24, we didn't hear back from you nor have you brought the vehicle in. Please bring the vehicle in at your earliest convenience so that we may make the situation right for you. It is our priority to give you the service you expect and paid for.

******** is no longer working here. I paid for a rebuilt transmission to be out into my van, and I had 2 years, 24months on my original work order. Today, theyre telling me Im out of warranty that it was only 1 year or 12k. New manager told me theres nothing they could do. ******** first quoted me to rebuild my transmission, then when we haggled back and forth, he offered me an in the business discount, and told me he could put in a rebuilt transmission for less. At no point in time did we discuss that the warranty was any different. He even knew that Id paid AACTION transmission 2 years prior to do the same thing and I was upset with them not standing by their work. Now it feels like AACTION TRANSMISSION all over again. My wife is out of her transportation, and having to pay to get to and from work. I dropped the van off last night and they havent even road tested it to verify the transmission is bad. I called the original location to complain, and they told me the same thing without even asking me much of anything. $3300 later and Im told to go kick rocks. Stay away from this place, do not give them your business. $3300 for a transmission job thats bad within warranty but you guys refuse to honor it. I signed a work order that said $3250 (which I paid cash) and was never told the notes had been changed to reflect less warranty (I WOULD NOT HAVE FIXED THE *** HERE).Uploading both receipts. You can see the second receipt he put my job in the description which is how he explained he was able to lower the price so much. Also, look at the labor lines, they are different. Hows that impact the warranty and why was it not pointed out to me?

After reviewing the information. I see the customer was provided 2 quotes with 2 options to proceed with the repair of his vehicle. Both have the scope of work and prices along with the warranty clearly stated. There was no deceit in presenting these options as you can see the customer had both in his possession to compare. The customer opted for the less expensive option, which included, exchanging his transmission with a rebuilt unit for the total cost of $3037.38 plus tax. Which included a 1 year warranty. The labor times are different because they are completely different scopes of work. The more expensive option includes opening his unit, determining what has malfunctioned and/or is showing signs of wear and damage, purchasing those parts, and rebuilding his unit. Rebuilding his original unit is more labor intense than removing his transmission and exchanging it with a completely rebuilt unit.

Furthermore, when the customer had the vehicle towed in on 5/28/24, *******, the Center Manager, looked up his paperwork to accommodate and confirmed he had a one year warranty. Although, he was out of his warranty period, ******* offered to check the vehicle to see how we could be of assistance. The customer expressed that he would let ******* know if he wanted him to check the vehicle and left the office. The customer had the vehicle towed away from the shop at 8:08pm on 5/28/24 without any further communication other than complaint on ****** and with the BBB.

It is unfortunate that there is an issue with the vehicle. However, we were not authorized to perform any checks once it was established he was out of warranty. We will gladly provide a diagnostic given permission, and once the issue is determined, we would be happy to offer assistance that would be mutually amicable. Ultimately, our goal is for every customer to have a positive experience with us.

Please see the attached email from *****************************. She advised via email on 5/20/24 that the issue wasn't related to the work done at our shop and that she would be withdrawing her complaint. Should something change we are ready, willing and able to honor her warranty for the work we performed.

I previously responded that I was in receipt of the complaint and would follow up with a response. I can't find the option to do that. Please use this submission as my follow response.

Vehicle dropped off on 4/17/2024 And picked up on 4/25/2024 Brought vehicle into Gold Coast for rear-end noise. I was provided a diagnosis of a complete rebuild of my unit with ALL NEW parts for a total of ********. (NOT A USED/JUNK UNIT WHICH IS WHAT THEY INSTALLED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. ****** ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WAS TRUE AND ASKED WHAT WILL MAKE IT RIGHT) ALL MY MONEY BACK WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. I was lied to and scammed out of my money. The first story I got when questioned right before I left the facility about why the reared looked different than the one that it came in with ( It was freshly painted with used/junkyard markings which is why I questioned it), I was told they took the whole axle assembly down to rebuild on the bench( didn't make sense as when ****** called me in to take a look when they tore it down to show me the damage while the axle assembly was still IN the truck and the internals of the axle was already 90% disassembled on a workbench, pictures attached. At that moment I had to go back to work so I left. When I got back to work I still felt uneasy about the situation so called ****** back. The second story I got from ****** was the guy that worked on the vehicle was fired and no one quality-checked the work before I picked it up. The third story was "the parts were on back order and someone made an executive decision to order a used/junk reared. ****** the manager is well aware of the situation. It's unacceptable for someone to be taken advantage of. I trusted ****** and he assured me everything was brand new when I picked it up. ****** lied to my face.

I have received this complaint. I will respond once I have gathered all the pertinent information.

I previously stated that I would follow-up once I reviewed the information regarding this complaint. I am not sure if this is the correct link so please use this as my follow-up.

We have different accounts of what transpired. All of the authorizations are signed and we record our incoming calls for quality assurance. With that said, ****** and the customer never agreed on new parts, nor is that stated on his repair order. The customer made it clear his main priority was cost effectiveness and getting his truck back timely. ****** told him the cost for new parts was $2600.00 not including labor. The customer expressed that was too expensive. In an effort to provide the customer with the best price and the quickest turn around, we purchased another rebuilt differential with a 12 month /****** mile warranty. When the customer picked up he questioned why there was a different differential and that he didn't understand that is how we were able to bring down the cost. At that point, he stated he thought he was getting new parts.

In an effort to satisfy the customer due to the misunderstanding, ****** offered him an additional 1 year warranty and a $750.00 credit toward any future repair. The customer said he would think about it and then later called and stated he wanted a complete refund. In addition, ****** asked the customer if he was experiencing any issues to which the customer replied that everything was operating well. To be clear, the repair order that the customer signed, lists custom rebuilt differential along with the warranty. There is no reason for him to be experiencing any issues with the work that was performed in our shop, if there is, he has the right to bring the vehicle back to our shop so that we may honor his warranty.

I am rejecting this response because

This so far from the truth its insane. Vinnie absolutely reassured me that this was all new parts installed. At no point during our interact and agreements did conversation come up of 2600$ plus labor for new parts. The agreement was 2600$ for new parts including labor. ****** knows the truth. The fact you are stating the reason why you put in a rebuilt unit when I picked it up to keep cost down shows that you never disclosed that to me until I picked it up. That conversation never happened when I picked it up! Good try. One would hope the truth is being told! When I asked ****** while I was still in the office why the rear end was different his response was it was rebuilt on the bench as it was easier. I asked again before I left again everything is new though and he said yes and shook my hand and I left. At no point while I was there picking up the vehicle was there a discussion of the unit being replaced with a third party rebuilt unit. When I pressed the situation after getting back to work he then stated that he will need to look into it and get back which he did only to state that the mechanic that worked on it was fired and unsure of what happened but will get to the bottom of it. On Monday morning I showed up to pick up my rotors from the original axle and and ****** assured me he is still looking into what happened.  On Tuesday morning he called me back to let me know his boss has not gotten back to him on how to proceed with the situation and goes on to tell me the truth of what happened which was the parts where on back order and someone ordered a used/rebuilt unit. I told him at that point I have disputed my credit card charges until we figure this out. ****** called back 2 hours later to let me know that Gold Coast is willing to refund 750$ (not a credit) and extend the warranty for one additional year. I was so furious with the situation.  The story you are stating to the phone calls you say you have recorded are a complete lie to the conversation I had with ******. I signed that paper work stating rebuilt reared based on the conversations with ****** that it had new parts in it reassured by ****** and rebuilt by Gold Coast transmission. Not a third party rebuilt unit.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************

The rebuilt differential was built with new parts and there is a warranty. Are you experiencing a mechanical issue with the repair? Other than that, going in circles of how this misunderstanding came to be is pointless. We will not refund any money, because we performed the work outlined on your invoice which you acknowledged. However we are still willing to offer you the additional year and an additional ****** miles of coverage to your existing 1 year/****** mile warranty. Hopefully, the 24 month/24,000 mile warranty will give you peace of mind that we will stand behind our work.
