I was on a month to month lease with nbv property management. I wanted to leave my current unit and move to a new unit within the apartment community. I reached out to property agent ****************************The first time I reached out to ******* was on March 6th via phone call to transfer to another unit. I did not receive pictures from him until the 13th. I went to see the property, did not like the view and also felt it would potentially be a bad unit for me, given the fact that I was told the most recent tenant had been there for two years and it was going to take a very long time just to clean and get ready for a new tenant. I was worried that when the unit got handed off to me it would still be in need of work. I contacted ******* about the possibility of a different property. Unfortunately, ******* never got back to me.When he did not respond and I couldnt reach him or other representatives, I panicked and found myself another place to live as my lease was about to end. Before officially giving the move out notice I did try to contact the property for more information/resolution but was unsuccessful. I did not want to renew in my current apartment because I had some issues in Apartment 103, for example, once, I did not have hot water and maintenance took a week to fix the issue due to it being complex. My lease states I need to give fifteen days notice. I put in my notice on the 18th of March. I acknowledge I was two days late. During that time, I really hoped that I would hear back from ******* because as I stated I really wanted to stay within the community. After I put notice in, I was successfully able to contact him once (yesterday) and he told me he was too busy with other clients to respond to me. Initially, the property tried to take my whole security deposit as if I had never given notice. They then told me they were taking $960, which is still too much given the situation. I tried to call them back today and cant reach anyone.
