I financed an automobile through Connect credit Union when I was a resident of the ****************. Several months ago I moved to ********** and obtained a driver's license there and attempted to register that automobile in **********. I was told by the state of New ************ vehicle division that I would have to obtain the title for the automobile through my lien holder which is Connect credit Union. I first contacted Connect credit Union regarding this matter in October of 2022. I have contacted them on several occasions since then and spoken by phone to the representative for Connect that handles these matters. I was told that Connect credit Union would apply to the **************** for a paper title and send it to the New ************ vehicle division. It is now March of 2023 and my second and the last extension for the state of ********** has expired along with my ******* tag and registration, so I am now illegal to operate my motor vehicle because Connect credit Union / The **************** have not fulfilled their obligation. I have filed this complaint in hopes of a resolution before I have to pursue a legal remedy.

      ****************,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I must apologize for the issue you have experienced and I wanted to let you know it is in process of being corrected. I know you have been in contact with ***** from our office and are probably already aware of this. We initially had thought the issue was resolved when the electronic lien information was provided to **********. Unfortunately ********** rejected the electronic lien record and requested a paper title be sent. ******* maintains automobile titles in electronic format requiring a title be converted from electronic back to paper.  This process typically takes several weeks and relies on a paper title being mailed to us from the *** in ***********. In reviewing the urgency of your situation we opted to use a third party tag agency and courier to expedite that conversion to paper title and then express mail the title to the *** in **********. I personally delivered the envelope to the post office on Friday 3/3 to ensure no further delays in this issues resolution. We have waived all of the title conversion and courier fees as this issue should have been addressed earlier. I confirmed that the paper title was delivered to the ** *** at the address provided on 3/6 and I believe ***** had sent you the delivery confirmation as well. Once again I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and thank you for being a member of the Credit Union.

      Regards,
      *********************

In regard to the complaint by ****************** with Connect Credit Union.

The document furnished titled image71 appears to have nothing related to Connect Credit Union as it is a statement for a company called Transport Funding.

The account in question was a deposit account (savings and checking) that ************** deposited $2350 check on January 5, 2019.  The check was later returned to us on January 14, 2019 as Refer to Maker.  Unfortunately,************** had already withdrawn the funds. This resulted in a negative balance of $2360. We attempted to work with ************* on a payment plan however he stopped making payments on 4/12/19 with a balance of ****** remaining.  Consequently, the remaining amount was charged off. Approximately 2.5 years later ************** did eventually make a payment in full on October 15, 2021.  From what has been provided it appears as the account is reporting as a **** balance charge off which is what our records reflect. The statements of the account for the time period referenced above and the account application are attached.
