Be aware of this company. They work through ********* to get their customers, luring them with the lowest price, then they will not give you a car unless you pay all the extra fees and services they offer at the counter. Their shuttle took a hour to get to the airport, and when they came, there were so many people waiting there that we have to wait for their return (the rental place is only 10 minutes away). They denied us a car, saying we didn't have proof of insurance, when we had not only one insurance but two, one through State Farm and the other through our **** card (which specifically instructs you to deny insurance at the rental car company counter in order to get coverage). They will charge you an arm and a leg for "tolls" when you can just prepay tolls online or even just put your "Maps" to avoid tolls (free). We were left on the street at 12:00AM, without a car, 3 miles away from the airport. We called the police to register what happened, and even the police officer mentioned they had been called before for this kind of issue with that company. We had to get an **** to go back to the airport and then rent another car. The police officer was so concerned about leaving us there on that shady neighborhood that he stayed with us until the **** driver came. Needless to say, the new rental was way more expensive. We got a refund from Priceline for the original price we paid, but we had to take the loss on the difference between what we paid to Priceline and what we paid to the other rental company. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM! I am glad my kids are adults, otherwise it would be an even worse nightmare. You have been warned.

rented a car from these people on May 17 to May 18, and they took a $750 deposit. And it's now June, and they still have not returned my money; they keep refreshing the deposit to make it appear as if the deposit was just taken, so it's been pending for several weeks. Since it's in the pending stage, my bank can do nothing about it

Im always skeptical of lesser-known car rental companies, but decided to give MEX Car Rental a shot through Expediaand unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I arrived on time and ended up waiting over an hour just to be helped.I ultimately didnt rent the car because they tried to tack on insurance and extra fees that nearly doubled the original rental cost, even though I provided a valid credit card and proof of full coverage insurance from home. I wasnt the only one dealing with thiseveryone else in line was also disputing similar unexpected charges.Expedia says they cant help with a refund, so Ill be filing a dispute with my credit card company and reporting the experience to the BBB. I shouldve read the ****** reviews before making any reservation. I hope this review helps others.

Booked via expedia on the day of pickup the company canceled my booking stating I was late for pick up. Advised there was flight delays they stated they will refund via booking agency. ******* later told me they refuse to make good on the refund due to their cancelation policy. This is such a scam as the day that I went to pick up my car the agent told me no cars were available. Also the *** on the phone told me they would give me a new car as my flight was late. Now this is not a company anyone should do business with.

On December 24 , 2024 I was in the location to pick up the car I reserved on November 16,2023. I was there at 11:45 am and the pick time was for 12 noon . I waited in line 2 hrs then I got to the court their representative told me they don’t have the car avilable anymore . I processed the reservation through Tickets at work which took the money $606.50 the same day to processed the reservations 11/16/23. I recorded Mex representative saying they will provide a full refund the same day 12/24/23 . It been more than a month and I haven’t received my money back.

This company is a FRAUD. Charge you $200 for a WEEK to purchase their insurance. Even though I have full coverage on 3 newer vehicles and pay $145 a MONTH for those. They ask if you want to purchase their $14.99 toll pass - which SAY NO to its cheaper to just pay the toll fees. BUT they charge you at the end of your rental their TACKED on $14.99 a day toll fee PLUS the toll fees. They are COMPLETELY rude and a terrible car company to rent a car from.

Terrible scammers. How are they still in business? 3rd World crooks! December 19th, 2023 date I reserved a car rental on Priceline for $204.84. December 24th, 2023 I picked up the car.She said the car required a $2,500 hold fee and costs twice as much as I reserved it for. They didn't honor the reservation. She said she thinks there might be a smaller car. The worker said I needed to purchase their insurance. I told her I had my own insurance. She asked to see it. Then told me my deductible was not low enough. On their website under *************** ******************* there is nothing mentioned about any deductible amount. I am attaching that here for you to look over. Here is the link as well: ***********************************************************************************. It also never mentioned this when I initially reserved the car. I have those emails printed out and attached for you to look over as well.If I'm the one paying the deductible, what difference is it to them? Plus, major credit cards pay the deductible on car rental issues. She looks at my insurance & says my deductible needs to be under $500 but told another customer $300. She charged me an Insurance Waiver of $174.95I said I didnt want to rent a car with an Insurance waiver fee of almost the same price as the car.She says if I dont rent the car, she will charge my credit card the full amount of renting the car. even though they didnt keep the original reservation. She told me a $250 HOLD would be on my account. But that money actually came out.She said their insurance would cost About $30 per day. I was rented the car for 5 days @ $30/day is $150 before taxes. I was charged $174.95 which is the same amount w/taxes.She said no manager is available. No one answers the phone.

The vendor, which uses various car names from NextCar, Mex Car Rental, Wheego, Routes, ******, and others and is a company called OneSwitch, who is using unscrupulous practices in business. Wait lines exceeding 2 hours, automatically cancel reservations while people are in line because it was 2 hours after they were supposed to pick up ... with no ability to retrieve expired reservations, and the company does not allow any new reservations to be made on site. In addition, even when insurance is provided, they are demanding unobtainable minimums that don't exist when they look at your insurance to verify coverage. Asking for $1M in personal liability, which isn't even an option on reputable insurance companies like Progressive, then holding you hostage as you have to fork out an additional $30 per day for insurance, along with $14.50 for their mandatory toll package that has to be added to your rental. And, when I tried to upgrade my coverage (which would be effective immediately), they told me that it had to be changed to $1M at least 30 days before traveling. My rental was $412, prepaid with Priceline, and they demanded an additional 900 dollars from me. As my daughter had been waiting at the airport for over 2 hours while I waited in line, I was forced to pay this additional fee for unnecessary insurance. Then they still told me that my insurance would be used to cover collision, but it is not covered by the $30 fee they are charging me per day. BTW, after I left, I tried to change my policy, and the highest liability I can buy is $50K. I have rented cars for over 40 years and have never experienced this kind of treatment and was taken advantage of, along with 100 other people, just during the time I was there. This type of service and bait and switch is unacceptable for any customer to experience, and they are doing this daily. Can I give them ZERO STARS for the anguish they cause our visitors to *******!!!!! I would never come back if I were a tourist.

Had a reservation at 3:30pm. Flight was delayed an hour. After landing and arriving at the shuttle pickup location, I then wanted over an hour for a Mex driver to pick me up. After arriving at the rental location I was told since I arrived late they cancelled my reservation. There were 10 other families with the same scenario. Some families they refused to issue a refund.
