The car had a flat tire from pick up and they was like it's all we have. So it was that or nothing. Then had to get jumped 2 times for a dead battery. Had to put air in the tire every day. The best part yet, the shield under the car was held with zip ties and kept falling off and I'd have to climb under it and reattach it every time we'd drive.

Unprofessional Service – Missed Work and Uber Incentive Reservation Not Honored – Turned Away Despite Appointment I reserved a car through Uber with Hertz so that I could work today and take advantage of a special Uber incentive. My appointment was scheduled for 4:00 pm, and I even arrived a few minutes early. When I got there, I noticed there were quite a few people waiting, but I assumed it would just mean a longer wait. However, when I parked, an employee told me she was no longer taking customers because the lobby was full. I explained that I had a reservation, but she still told me to come back on Monday. Because of this, I am unable to work as planned and missed out on the Uber incentive that started today. Having a reservation should guarantee service. Being turned away despite a confirmed appointment is unacceptable and has cost me both time and money.

HERTZ owes me a refund for charging me for my spouse as a driver of my rental when Hertz carries a no spouse charge policy for members and when i reached out to a Hertz Corporation office in San, PR several times i was told each time that they would pass the information to a supervisor and that i needed to wait 5-7 business days for the refund. When calling to find out the status of my refund for the 3rd time they told me that they would relay this information to the supervisor again. I was livid and expressed firmly that this was not acceptable and asked them why do they continue to keep telling me this. We have been going through the same answers way over a month and the customer service rep was so unprofessional and to top it off hanged up on me. I called again got the same rep on the phone and he hanged up the phone once again. I will never rent from this company ever again. They are built on lies and unprofessionalism. The lies began from the very beginning when i rented an SUV on their website was quoted a $700 price and then when i go to pick up the vehicle somehow the price was now $1240 of which $200 would be removed if there were no damage to the car. The desk clerk did not offer a real explanation as to why the price would differ. My expectation was to pay $700 and of course plus any taxes. Because i was traveling with my senior relatives i did not want to put my family through the torture of having to continue the back and forth with the desk clerk who was not helpful at all. Extremely disappointed and after reading other reviews i see why. I should have researched rental cars better. Hertz needs to do better by the customers or they will be many more customer losses for them.

I would leave negative stars if possible. We got a car from Logan airport in Boston and they gave us a car that had an expired inspection sticker (didn't know that was a thing cause its not in our state) and then we got pulled over and a warning to get it fixed. Tried 2 Hertz locations near us (Shrewsbury) and couldn't get the inspection done or a new car and went somewhere they suggested for the inspection and it was about to close. The next day, went to get the inspection done and had to use an uber to get around just for the car to FAIL the inspection. Called Hertz and after an hour, they set up for us to pick up a car the next day at a location 40 minutes away and they knew we worked until 4. We get there and they have no cars. Call again and their best solution is to make US drive an hour and a half BACK to Boston to get a new car when this whole thing is THEIR fault and they're too irresponsible as a company to make sure their cars meet the required standards. They REFUSED to bring us a car and did not offer any form of compensation. If we want financial compensation we have to call another line 24 hours after we drop off our car. COMPLETELY unreliable and do not care about their customers or correcting their mistakes. We have spent the last 4 days after work and at least 7 hours trying to fix THEIR problem and they don't care at all.

Hertz CONSUMERS BEWARE OF THE SCAM at HERTZ KIOSK THEY NEVER DISCLOSED ANY OF THE ADDITIONAL CHARGES I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the experience I had on June 20, 2025, involving your kiosk locations in Miami and Palm Coast, Florida. After returning from an international trip to Lima, Peru, I arrived in Miami and opted to cancel my connecting flight to Orlando due to a 12-hour layover. Instead, I chose to rent a car through Hertz—based on your affiliation with Delta Airlines—to drive directly home to Palm Coast. At the time of rental, I clearly indicated that this was a one-way trip to Palm Coast. The agent in Miami even consulted with a supervisor, who confirmed the drop-off location and provided the exact address. However, when I returned the vehicle later that day to the Palm Coast location, I was informed by the branch manager, that I owed nearly $400 because the car “needed to be returned to Miami.” I explained that my rental had been confirmed as one-way from the beginning. Unfortunately, the employee was completely unprofessional, argumentative, and processed two charges on my account without a clear explanation or permission. I found this treatment to be unacceptable, particularly given the prior confirmation of the one-way rental and the lack of transparency surrounding the charges. I feel they took advantage of my weariness and did not address my direction for a one way drop. I seems to me they only cared about getting an and charging the extra $200. to my account. 1. A full review of this incident, including the billing discrepancy and handling by your Palm Coast manager. 2. A refund of the overcharges. I am willing to pay a reasonable rate of $187.24, which I agreed to and was the average quote I received from comparable agencies for the same trip. This situation has left me feeling both misled, scammed and deeply disappointed in Hertz’s Brand and customer service.

Ordered car on line and paid at time of order , showed up at airport and told to wait because no cars . After an hour the manager asked if I wanted a full size SUV instead of a midsize . I said , sure . The up charge for a 2 day rental was $700 more than they had already charged me . I had a meeting and had to take the car and eat the increase . I will never use Hertz again and as I cross the country speaking at business events will share this story as many times as I can. Take public transportation before you book with Hertz !

Impossible to get any customer service at all. Call centers are all international and they have no interest in return business or customer service. Company used to great but has fallen off completely. I moved my corporate account to Enterprise.

This location is not operating its business to a standard that is borderline illegal, and there are multiple reports of this being the case. The manager here is reselling stolen property. i rented a vehicle in July and I returned my rental with a few personal items left behind. I called the next day to report my lost/forgotten items and the person on the line said that they were indeed left behind and would be returned to me if i picked them up. I went the same day and was told that the items were still in the car and that the car would be brought back tomorrow. I thought that weird but ok, I went back the next day and was given another excuse but always assured that I would receive them the next day. It has now been over a month I have yet to receive my personal items, I have filled a lost item report I have been calling everyday for an update and no progress has been made. I am tired that no solution is being provided.I then checked further into the manager and the people in this store and a lot of clients claim that they steal and resell lost/forgotten items. They wont close your case they will just hope customers dont follow up and give up. I even saw in their other reviews that they have posted stolen items on popular resell websites. I just want my items back and I want a solution/conclusion to this. They have tired me just like they have tired other customers that they have stolen from.

On a trip to Sedona I prepaid Thrifty, a subsidiary of Hertz, $205.37 for a "mystery vehicle" (economy or higher). On arrival, the vehicle they reserved for me was an electric vehicle, which I could not use. So, they rented me a dirty Chevrolet and charged me $786.35 (bait and switch!) I complained but nothing was done. A month later I received a bill for $205.37. When I called then, I was told it was a mistake and they were refunding the prepaid $205.37 to my credit card -- which they NEVER did. Today, I just got ANOTHER bill for $205.37! Lessons Learned: NEVER prepay for a mystery vehicle and NEVER rent from Herts or their subsidiaries Thrift of Dollar!
