      The battery died 3 times during the week that I had my Hertz rental. When I called after the first incident the customer service representative hung up on me. I will absolutely never rent from Hertz again.

      I rented a car from Dollar/Hertz (which I didn't know at the time that Hertz owned Dollar) in June at LaGuardia airport. Which really isn't at the airport even though they say that it is at the airport. First lie. Picked up the car no issues. Returned the car five days later and they charged me $1,041 for five day rental. Not even close to the agreed upon amount. I noticed this several days later as I was traveling on business. Called Dollar/Hertz and complained. I guess they just figured they would try and see what they can get away with. They credited me $815 and my new bill was $225. So I submitted that bill to my company and I was reimbursed the $225. Just two days (four months later) I get a bill for $346. I call Hertz/Dollar and argue about this new bill. They said too bad so sad you owe the money or we turn it over to collections. I argued that they billed me incorrectly the first time, then credited me the wrong amount in the next step. And now I get a bill four months later. Not to mention in June I disputed the $346 charge with my credit card company because I had charges from Hertz in Oklahoma. I wasn't in Oklahoma nor did I rent from Hertz. So now they want their money back. They made all the mistakes and now I have to pay the $346 out of pocket because they made mistakes. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ/DOLLAR EVER AGAIN. Stay away from this company!!!! Or make sure you check your bill on the spot so they don't steal your money! They are horrible rotten people.

      I recently rented a Chevrolet Malibu from September 08, 2022 through September 29, 2022.Hertz/Dollar Rental location was ************************************ in *********, ******. I was very pleased with my experience at this location.Rental agent ***** waited on me and was thoroughly professional and very personable.What a breath of fresh air. I was impressed.It is absolutely wonderful to receive this kind of attention and service in the present business climate. Obviously I had a choice when making my selection for a rental car in ******. ***** was the deciding factor for me going with Hertz/Dollar.I have worked in customer service in the past, and excellent customer service definitely is the *********** to happy customers. Happy customers should be the goal of every business, of course. But some businesses seem to have forgotten this. I commend and praise Agent ***** for his sincere attention to my needs at the time and his impeccable customer service.More companies need to have reps like *****. Thanks so much!

      If I could zero stars I would. I had a horrible experience with this company in Florida never again. I had to return three cars something was wrong with all three. Then they over charged me.

      I rented a vehicle from Hertz at the airport where I live . While I was renting the car I decided to extend the rental online which I had problems with so I tried to do it over the phone and I didnt feel comfortable with that after hertz tried over charge me on the rental when I paid for the extra days through my capital one credit card not debit . That transaction Made me suspicious of illegal activity or fraud and capital one sent me a message alert of the attempts and told me to contact hertz. Before I could finish I contracted covid and had to go into quarintine which I lost contact with the company except email they came and pick up the car with some of my property in it . I went to the airport to make payment and retrieve my property the car was there but my property wasnt in it and their systems where down and they couldn't do any transactions of any kind and no manager was on duty so they said . They had no way of documenting anything. I couldn't even file a lost and found or insurance claim for my property. Now they charged my credit with huge bill and wont respond to my insurance claim for my property,

      Hertz operates like a bankrupt company. They tried to charge me for a car reservation when they didn't have the car available after I booked online. When I called the customer service number I spoke to Lynn a rude hertz employee who refused to get me a supervisor. Lynn also argued with me stating she didn't believe there was a charge because they don't charge until the car is picked up, just lies! I'm staring at the charge on my Amex account!

      the most corrupt, outrageous, unprofessional organization in the rental car industry and beyond. Their "bait and switch" tactics are illegal, and their NON customer service dept is horrible, almost laughing in your face when customer cannot get issues resolved. I paid 3.5 times my quoted rate because they did not offer the car I was quoted, at their location. And corporate Hertz flat out told be they could not help me, and hung up. A very disgusting group of people, how can they get away with it???????????

      If I could give zero stars, that would be my rating. I created an online reservation, but about a week later, I cancelled it. Two months afterwards, someone picked up the car on my cancelled reservation. I called Hertz and told three agents that I am not in that city or state renting the car and it was a fraudulent rental. They told me that my reservation was cancelled, so it was good. About a month later, I received a bill for the rental. I called and was told that it was in error in their system and they will update my account; she saw that my rental was cancelled as well. About two months went by, I received an email about the bill. I called again and was told, again, that it was an error and they will get it corrected. I also sent my second email about it as well. Hertz answered my email, but did not answer my problem. Another month went by and I received a collections letter for the bill from Hertz. I called the agency and explained to them that it was fraudulent. They actually saw the notes from Hertz that I called and stated the rental was cancelled, so they stopped the collection. I will never rent from Hertz again and will seek my attorney at this point as I don't know how else to tell them that I did not rent the car!

      Hertz rented me a car with expired plates. When I noticed upon return and asked for a refund they told me no and renting cars with expired plates is normal and hertz does it all the time. I called costumer service to complain and they only offered a credit, which knowing hertz business practice is to rent cars with expired plates I am not going to use them again. I just wanted a refund.

      I had a horrible pick-up experience with this rental. Despite arriving on time for an 8AM reservation, I did not leave with a vehicle until 8:40. As a Gold Member cars are supposed to be ready before arrival. I was second in line. None of the Hertz employees helped customers before 8:20.After dropping off the car the next day, they did not check it in. I had to call to initiate that and close out the rental. Calls to complain about poor service got me nowhere. They acted as though things went smoothly.If I could leave less than one star, I would.
