      Rented from Hertz in Denver. First vehicle had the check engine light come on before we left the lot. They had us take it to maintenance dept. second vehicle had the oil light come on 4 days into a six day vacation. Oil measured below minimum level. Do we call hertz and waste a day of vacation or put oil in the vehicle. Purchased a quart at a ridiculous price and got the vehicle back to denver(2hrs) without incident. Asked the attendant in Denver about refund for the oil. Told to file claim for refund which we did with pix of receipt. 3 week later had to call on status of claim and told that our claim was in process and would have an answer in a week. 2+ weeks later called and told claim was denied as no report was filed. Set a second copy of receipt and was denied almost immediately. After spending 1K in rental fees Hertz felt compelled to take an additional $11.00 and not bat an eye. We are also Gold members for all that’s worth. Tried to do the right thing and this is the thanks we got from Hertz.

      This is the third and final time I have rented from Hertz at the Phoenix airport. The first time I waited 2 1/2 hours in the garage for a car because they overbooked. The second time was May 105° and I waited in the garage for 3 1/2 hours as a Goldmember . Right now as we speak I’m standing in line because the Goldmember counter isn’t open and you can check in down there and there are 35 people in front of us and two people behind the desk don’t waste your time find any other rental car company when coming to Phoenix sky Harbor Airport!!

      For over 40 years I've been on my husband's Gold membership at Hertz. I often travel to Florida alone and have always been able to rent a car under his name. In fact, he usually makes the arrangements. On November 2, I arrived at RSW airport in Ft. Myers and was given a car. However, they refused to allow me to leave because my husband wasn't with me. The woman at the gate treated me like a thief. The clerk inside was more cordial and understanding but this was horrific. I should have left and gone to Avis but I was in a hurry. I had to sign up solo after all these years and was unable to be a gold member. I, personally will never use Hertz again after being a loyal customer for decades.

      Would leave zero stars if possible, this company gave us the worst experience ever. After booking a car several days in advance with a debit card the rental company refused to give us the car. This was incredibly disheartening due to the immense traveling that we had done with our one year old daughter, who was at that point extremely and crying. After refusing to help us several times they finally offered to give us the car under a different credit card and name but at a significantly higher price. We decided to go with enterprise which was a far better choice. All in all do not book with this company, later we discovered their low rating and after this experience I can see how they got two stars. Although in my opinion they dont even deserve that many.

      We had a prepaid rental at Hertz though Priceline at Birmingham airport. My husband's pick uptime for his car was 7:00 but his plane was delayed and he arrived at Hertz at 9:30. However Hertz was closed up, without leaving any signs/notes for it's costumers and did not give the neighboring rental company any information about it any potential customer pick ups like rental cars typically do if they need to close early. Hertz is supposed to be open till 11 according to their website and customer service, and the other rental car companies next to it. Both Priceline and myself were unable to reach Hertz for any help. My husband had to do a last minute rental with another company. Because we booked though Priceline, Hertz says they have no responsibility for the problem or reimbursing us the difference between the price we had to pay for a last minute rental and the car they did not provide. The initial agent I spoke to stated that are sorry for any inconvenience we had, but that it wasn't their problem and any resolution has to go though Priceline. Priceline is trying to be helpful and has applied for compensation for us and reimbursement for us, but they need confirmation from Hertz that we did not pick up the rental via email. When I called Hertz again a week after the initial pickup date because Priceline told us Hertz has not responded to their inquires I got no where. When I asked to talk to a supervisor "Nick" told me "No" several times, and then clarified that he was not going to let me talk to a supervisor, and that Hertz had not responsibility to us as we had not paid them, we paid Priceline. He also told me that he did not have any email inquires from Priceline, but that even if they did they would not reposed to an email inquiry. That Priceline must call them. When I called back again the next day to try and talk to someone different at customer service, I finally managed to get a supervisor, Jose. However he wasn't any more help. I was t

      I rented a car in Iceland through Thrifty (Hertz is the owner/parent) in April 2022. I gave Thrifty my American Airlines mileage account number so as to receive my due rewards. I also gave them a bonus code for 4X the normal amount of miles (200 miles per day instead of 50). After a few months of not receiving them, I contacted Hertz, the first of MANY. Their first response was that I never rented a car in Iceland, even though I gave them the correct reservation number. After numerous times of giving them the number, the mileage account info, etc., I had to copy every piece of my rental pages and they FINALLY acknowledged that I rented a car. I also gave them the bonus code EVERY time I contacted them. After SIX months I received the basic amount of miles, not the bonus amount. Their response was that I never gave Thrifty the bonus code for it was not anywhere on my rental agreement. Well, neither was my AA number anywhere on there! The lady at the Iceland office had not entered any of it. But since they acknowledged that I did rent a car there, common sense and good customer service would have given me the bonus (for at first, they could not even find my rental IN THEIR OWN RECORDS). I contacted them two more times but now they are ghosting me. Beware of Hertz’s very poor customer service and their peoples’ lack of knowledge and efforts.

      (Location - ********************************************** ) I had rented a Tesla model 3 through Uber and I was charged way more than the agreement and then extra for an e-z pass that I never used I tried reaching out to them on multiple occasions and its always I have to talk to this person, I have to talk to that person their attitudes are not professional at all and half of the time they just dont answer the phone . I DO NOT RECOMMEND RENTING FROM THEM AT ALL.

      I rented a car in the UK. Avoided an accident that resulted in my car getting a flat after I was forced into a curb. Waited 4 hours for service. Had to call 3 times to finally get a repair person to come. 4 hours on the side of the road, missing our appointments for the day. A wasted day on our trip. Bought the expensive insurance but the flat wasn’t covered. Talking to corporate and trying to get satisfaction has been a nightmare. Choose any other rental agency but do not go with Hertz. You will regret it.

      Terrible customer service!! They ran my credit without consent, they denied my rental with 708 credit score. When I called to see why they said it has to be 1000, what??? Yet they still took my $823! Then to be told I won’t get it back for 7 to 10 days. Never again will I consider this company.

      I recently rented a vehicle from Hertz for my trip to New York. I've been a Hertz gold club member for many years. This was by far the worst experience I ever had with Hertz. My experience was so bad that I will never rent from Hertz again. There were so many surcharges and fees that I encountered from this one rental. I would have been better off buying a vehicle while I was in NY. I'll advise anyone looking to rent from Hertz to turn away immediately. I see why they're losing business and there doors need to be closed for good.
