      We bought a car from them and the car appeared to be in good shape. Less than 2 weeks the suspension broke and we were stuck 150 miles away. We called automax and spoke with Francisco who refuse to help us since we were not in tow range. We finally got the back to Dallas however had to pay 600 dollars for the tow. Francisco automax refuse to reimburse us. I would not advise getting a car from Automax.. We felt ripped off. Never again be warned!!! I give them a rating of zero stars

      Literally scam you with plate pass and when you complain they lied, they just keep trying to charge you. Only use them with a credit card like American Express.

      Was charged an excessively high late charge fee of approximately $300 Correct time of pickup was inaccurate and not adjusted due to the representative / company mismanagement and delay of providing the correct car reserved on the original contract

      Dollar car rental bait and switched me with the suppliers choice. When I arrived they said suppliers choice was for an EV truck. They then said you had to get insurance on it for $80 a day and that your own insurance would not cover it. They then forced me into a basic sedan at $29 per day extra. Total scam rental that I will not be using in the future. They are part of thrifty and Hertz, so I would advise you stay away from all 3 if you dont enjoy getting scammed.

      First of all, there is NO phone number to get a hold of someone. I emailed a week ago and have not heard back. I rented a car in NY and returned in Boston. They charge me 2 extra hours when I have time stamped photos. They also charge me toll fees when I prepaid for toll tag. On the concession fee, they increased it by another 24.81. Those charges with the $20.875 tax is a total of $224.57 that they over charged.

      They will tell you an upgrade is only $30 and to put your card In the reader then continue to charge you $30 dollars per day plus random extra fees that they never mentioned but already take your money so there’s nothing you can really do about it! Terrible company to rent a car from I highly recommend you stick to Enterprise (which really isn’t that much better or Avis. Honestly Turo is the best way too go! They have way better customer service and you know what you’ll get / pay for! DOLLAR is not a good company to do business with I highly recommend you stay away or before you pay, read the fine print!

      Scammed us out of $300 by claiming our insurance company wouldnt cover car rentals in REMOVEDso we needed to purchase their insurance (said only 3 companies would-REMOVED, REMOVEDand cant remember the 3rd). When our insurance office opened, we found our they were lying and we would have been fully covered)

      Dollar did not honor my printed confirmation on 10/8/25 @ 12:30am. Agent asked me to email my original email confirmation to her supervisor. No response from her till date. We were trended early hours of the morning. Very disappointed & I have never experienced this kind of situation before.

      Rented a car through price lines dollar car rental but after accidentally choosing an electric car I tried calling to change it to a gas car but never could get anyone on the phone. My family recommended I just talk to them, at the counter when I arrived in REMOVEDand was told their cars weren't teslas, got half the mileage advertised and charging stations were hard to find so I tried just switching to gas but was told I'd have to pay the $203.00 originally charged then rent another car instead. Stupid me, should have walked to another car rental, at that point but I thought I could straighten it out after this trip to a family emergency and subsequent funeral...so I render the second car with them. Bottom line, I never was reimbursed nor credited from, the first car rental, I never took. I fault both dollar rental and even price line (WHO'S phone number was a recording and only tried to sell me neck alert monitors!!) for not following through to keep satisfied customers. First and LAST time ill or anyone I can tell to AVOID BOTH THESE COMPANIES!
