After an incredibly violent episode, where my husband smothered me and I realized I could die, I asked him to leave my house, our marital home. Previously, in the aftermath of other violent episodes, which kept getting worse over the years, my husband would inform me that if I said anything he was going to have me Baker acted. I was threatened with this continually over the years. He even told me that he had spoke to the doctor and social worker on staff and made contact via his police officer friend. The officer involved said that he saw messages on my husband's phone that said I wanted to kill our children, the only reason South County said they kept me, this same officer with PBSO later under oath said that he had never seen these messages. I was in my pajamas, still groggy, in shock and trying to determine what was going on. The officer asked if I had ever threatened to kill anyone, which I replied with a emphatic "no"!, and then asked if I wanted to kill myself. I was joking, it was during quarantine and the height of the pandemic, I often smile and say silly things especially when uncomfortable, sorry but this is still not a justification for taking me to south county.
