We only had a month and a half at our ******* house before we needed to return to ****** and discovered a big hole in our roof. We called 3 different contractors for an estimate Bert Faircloth roofing being one of them. **** from Bert Faircloth Roofing did a thorough inspection including in the attic and with no pressure tactics gave us honest opinion on what felt needed to be done. He then put a solid temporary patch on the roof for us before leaving knowing there were torrential rains expected for next day. April who works in the office was very helpful with picking the right materials and coordination of permits, roofing/shingling and inspections. **** and both his sons were also very professional and informative on how best to proceed. Then as promised the job was done in one day and the men who put on the roof were very professional and did an amazing job, We have nothing but good things to say about this company and all their staff.Review from Lorraine L

New roof installed December 2022. About a week later (12/23/22) I noticed an odor in the spare room in garage where gas hot water heater is. The gas heater vent pipe to the roof was dislodged during roof install and was venting into house. I called and texted with no response. I went to fire department and advised to get CO monitors. Days later I thought of calling the City Inspector that inspected the finished roof and he offered to call them and within an hour a worker from Bert Faircloth was there fixing the piping. Why didn't they return my calls. I initially told them to be sure to do a double walk-by with the magnet to pick up nails. Over a dozen and a half nails so far in the front yard walk area (still looking) AND right by garage door. This senior female (70's) climbed up a ladder in back of house to check roof and attached porch roof. Shocked, there were 58 (FIFTY EIGHT NAILS) nails on roof of porch as if tossed there. There should be no reason for that many nails to be left on one 10'x8' small attached roof. In heavy rain these nails would have washed off and onto ground where anybody would walk. I tied a rope to a magnet and kept tossing over porch for a couple hours (on an 8' ladder) to remove nails. I couldn't call them to fix this as they do not return my calls yet when they sent their bill, they asked me to do reviews for them (I am). Also, when the worker came to fix the venting, he did a walk around all over the roof as I had asked him. A shame that this worker did not notice all those 58 nails that were on the porch roof while he was standing two feet away. When I got up there, the nails were the first thing I saw. To date I have heard no response from this company and I regret hiring a company that would treat any customer this way. If anything goes wrong with the roof I will have to call another roofer should I need repair. I continue to find nails on the ground as of this date.Bert Faircloth Roofing, Inc. Response

Attention Deborah,
I apologize for any inconvenience that you have incurred. I am sure that you feel that my company is incompetent and this was completely our fault. Inadvertently the hot water heater pipe became dislodged when the roofing project was being done. This pipe is located in the garage and the roofers do not go into the garage or private homes. It shouldn’t have come apart and we do take full responsibility and we did immediately have an employee rectify the problem when the city inspector notified us of the smell and called me on my cell phone.
For over 40 years we have closed for the Christmas Holidays prior to Christmas and do not reopen until after the new year which was January 2nd this year. To the best of my knowledge our customer never left a message on our answering machine nor did she send an email.
After hearing of the complaint about the nails being found I immediately sent a man out to her home to check for nails more thoroughly and drag a magnet on 01/23/23. Again, the customer never contacted us about the nails but contacted you to write a terrible review.
Again I apologize. Our company has been in residential reroofing for over 50 years and we are into our 3rd generation of the same family and we honestly try very hard to please every customer.

Fairchild Roofing was hired to do a job at the house that my husband and I are renting by our landlords. This is the rudest business I have ever had to deal with. My husband and I work from home and they called the day before saying they were coming the next day without trying to work out a decent start day for them that wouldn't completely interrupt our workdays. I tried calling to see if they could start later in the week but I never got an answer nor a callback. When they did show up, after my husband had to cancel his entire day, they said it would be a one-day project. Once they showed up and went about their business, they left the back gate to our backyard open! I don't know why they were back there in the first place, other than to steal by the gardening bucket. My dog escaped from the yard because of this(thankfully we retrieved him). Then they left at 7pm and left their trailer in the middle of our driveway so we could not get the car out! They did not ask if that was okay or communicate to us whatsoever! I called to tell them all of this that day and we did finally get the owner (I am assuming he never told us who he was) to pick up the trailer that evening. I called back to see when they were coming back and heard Mr. Fairchild complaining about us and was yelling "I DON'T KNOW" when his poor secretary asked him when they would be coming back to finish the job. All I expected was some common decency and respect from them to communicate with us and because we work from home it is CRUCIAL for us to know when they will be there to work on the roof. I would never recommend this company to anyone because of the disgusting way that this man communicates, or lacks to, with the tenants. We have the right to be notified of when it will take place and how long it will take by the BUSINESS. If I were Mr. Fairchild I would be EMBARRASSED by my actions and by the actions of my employees.
