Went in for an appointment that I had at 1:30 pm to look at cars to see what I qualify for. Very nice gentlemen helped me out until I said I was going to have my brother look at the car from the point thats when the problem started another Hispanic guy came in and he was nice and I told him the same thing that I would have my brother come in because today hes working and I am off to look at the car. They wanted me to put a down payment on the car, they will give me a refund. I was not comfortable putting a down payment anywhere because they would have given me a check for the money that I put down as a deposit and I was not going to accept a check. Caucasian came in. Whats the problem you came in **** to my point that has nothing to do with me trying to purchase a car and I am African-American and I felt like he was discriminating against me like I didnt have money. I paid almost $40 get there. It didnt matter how I got there. I got there to purchase of car while my car is sitting in the shop, so I told him that he can keep that car and I will go elsewhere. They do not need people like that establishment where they have to deal with different nationalities and race that discrimination.Initial Complaint

I bought a truck from Speedway in July of last year. I told the salesman and the woman who closed the sale, that I would be using it for my pool cleaning business. They offered a three year warranty and GAP coverage through a company called Assured Provider Services (APS) for an extra $3,728. I accepted.Before I got the vehicle home, I saw that the air pressure in one of the rear tires was low. This was noticed during the test drive and I was assured that it would be taken care of. It took them two weeks to replace the tire, and when I brought it in the truck was full of my pool supplies for work.Seven months later, I had to take the vehicle to two different mechanics, totaling $9,000 in repairs. Neither shop had ever heard of APS, and both said the work done shouldve been covered by a warranty. But neither one was. When I called APS to question this, I found that there was no such company. The person I spoke with was from a company that facilitated dealer owned warranties (DOWC) and was told they didnt cover commercial vehicles. I found this ludicrous, as not only had I told the people at Speedway I would be using the truck for such purposes, but that they had seen it as such when they changed the tire.I tried to contact Speedway directly regarding this and got the run-around. I spoke with at least eight people in three days, all of whom said the person I needed to talk to would call me back, but nobody did.I cant find anyone that works for APS. The website they have has one number that leads to DOWC. There is nowhere to place a review or voice a complaint.I have tried repeatedly to cancel my warranty since then and have had no results. Nobody at Speedway wants to address this matter.Also, after closing the sale, I was told by the salesman that if I didnt give them a 5 star review, my loan would be denied. I thought he was joking, but since this incident, the lienholder is no longer accepting my payments, despite the fact that I am not in default.Initial Complaint

I was pressured in to buying a 2019 Kia ***** that I didn't even get to test drive since since they want to bring in the vehicle home it constantly shut off while I was driving or when coming to a stop they told me to bring it in when the car has the problem but it's always when I'm using it going to work and they are closed so when I did bring the car in the next day the check engine light wasn't on because it goes on and off they told me there was nothing they can do all of the vehicle scene from reviews to be having this problem of shutting on and off while driving it is absolutely ridiculous they told me it was the only vehicle I qualified on the property but charge me $48,000 for $17,000 vehicle so why can't they switch it why can't I trade it in for another one of those s***** vehiclesInitial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle this last January from the ********* location. The day after, the vehicle broke down. At first, it seemed the dealership would take care of me. They took the car to be repaired, and gave me a rental to drive around. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing from them, I was told the deal fell through and I now needed to pay for the rental. I was in *****, moving my family 3000 miles to ******* when they called me. I returned the vehicle as soon as I got into town (I had left it in airport long term parking) on the 12th of February. I was assured they would stay in contact with me every step of the way, they never stayed in touch other than to tell me the deal fell through. I made a $1500 down payment that has yet to be refunded. I have tried to contact them since and the salesman no longer even works there.Customer Answer

This business "prides itself" on selling quality used cars and passing them through rigorous inspections before being sold to consumers.
They just sold me a piece of crap that I am now stuck with.
They did not mention to me any problems with the vehicle and they did not show or offer me a carfax.
I was not even asked to test drive this vehicle.
They pressured me into buying a 2015 Volkswagen for the price I payed for my 2017 Kia. And then the payments and interest are ridiculous.
I want my down payment back. $800. Or a free replacement vehicle. Or free repairs.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:The dealer knew it was damaged. They had access to the ****** before it was sold. Shouldn't have been sold at all. I should have been advised before the sale of all the issues and I was not advised. Did not even offer a carfax. Just wanted a sale.

I purchased a 2012 Mini Cooper on February 12th 2022 ! Within 3 weeks of having the Car it needed to be worked on the alternator went out ! After that was fixed I drove the Car for about a month then it shut off while driving!
After it was in the shop again I was told it was the fuel pump sensor and it should now be good to go! Drove it for another week it shut off while driving again ! It was then said to need a high press fuel pump!
After this was replaced in April 2022 four weeks later May 2 nd 2022 again the Car shut off while driving ! Once again I was informed it’s the high pressure fuel pump! The car was in the shop for a month !
After that it drove fine till September when the same thing happened it shut off while Driving! Mechanic said it was due to low gas !
We also advised him that the drop too don’t wanna come down anymore but was told oh well it’s almost Winter you don’t need it anyway !
February 10th 2023 Car stops while driving again had it towed to Speedway and I was told they will see what’s wrong! Again it’s the High pressure Fuel pump ! I have not been given a time when it be fixed I was told he’s shopping around for a new one that don’t cost 1200$
Now asked twice to be put in a reliable vehicle that don’t break down while driving I have made my payments on time every month but the Car seems to have the same issue every time it shuts off due to the fuel pump ! The communication is terrible with them and they are not helping in anyway to put us in a safe vehicle that won’t just die while driving!Business Response

On 05/26/22 I went to Speedway Auto Sales in ********* to purchase a vehicle. I originally was trying to get financed for a ***** Malibu they had listed for about $14k, and after hours of being there I was told I could not get financed. As I was prepared to leave they stopped me showed me a *********************************************************************************** financed for it. They told me I was approved for a loan of $30k with ************** I put $500 as a down payment and they rushed me through the signing process because it was so late and they were about to close. I asked about a CarFax for the car and the salesman told me it would be with all the paperwork when I pick up my registration.About 3 weeks ago I went into ********************** to try to trade in the vehicle for something cheaper. They gave me an estimated value of $14k for my vehicle I'm paying $30k for, and the Carfax shows this vehicle was previously registered as a rental car, wrecked as a rental with airbag deployment and that information was not disclosed to me. On 11/28/22 went to Speedway Auto Sales in ********** to try to work something out with them and if they could maybe explain why I was paying so much for this car when it's clearly not worth what I'm paying. I spoke with the manager **** who told me he would only buy the car back for $18k but I would still owe the remaining balance. He then told me that because of my drop in income since I purchased the Altima they would have a hard time approving me for anything else. So basically I'm on the hook for over $10k and there's no way for me to pay it off.Business Response

While I understand that Speedway does not determine the market, I still do not agree with the original valuation of the car and can prove that it is not correct. When I originally found this information out I reached out directly to the finance company who told me that my eligibility was determined by the price that Speedway provided.
I also understand that I purchased the car AS IS, but I also was not told that the car did not have airbags. That alone brings the value of the car down significantly, aside from it being a safety issue. Had I known that information, I would not have purchased this vehicle. Also if I bought the car AS IS then why was I sold an extended service contract for a warranty that was no longer valid?
When I went to Speedway 11/28 to try to resolve this issue **** told me there was a $3,000 fee from the bank to Speedway that was added to the price, but that information is not listed in my bill of sale or my retail agreement.Business Response

I purchased a 2019 ***** Equinox back in August and was told that they would be ordering a part that was missing on the vehicle, as well as giving me a free service job because of the horrendous service that I received while purchasing. I've been calling for weeks to get the part and either get told it wasn't ordered but it would be, the part never came in, or that the person handling the order was no longer working their. I called on 11/29 at 9:15 am and was left on hold for over 30 minutes, just to be told that they would not be honoring the agreement because the salesmen I dealt with no longer worked there, and they had no record of the part being ordered, as well as it was passed the 30 days since I had purchased the vehicle. How is it possible that a certified dealer wouldn't find this proof or no about the car whenever they receive it they should know the status the title is clean obviously but this car is a total loss. I need this to be resolved. I am not gonna keep the car. I need something resolved because this is unfair for me as it is, this is ridiculous. I can't believe that a dealer five star rating couldn't figure out the status of this vehicle. That is a dumb excuse my apologies but obviously when they're in guilt, they say that they were never aware so as a consumer and it's not fair that I have to put up with a car that is not worth the whole value that is, it is if it wasn't totaled so I need a resolution as soon as possible because I've been dealing with this for a while and it's not fair so so at this point no one was aware of it not the bank not the dealer now I so this is a a good excuse to come up with they had to be notified they had to know, and of course, there is proof that no disclosure sign on my end

I am extremely sorry you are not happy with the response. It is the truth. I uploaded the ****** that was available to us when we bought and sold the vehicle. We received from ****** that shows nothing of the sort. Also, the title is clean and does not show a total loss, rebuild or any indications that something was wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle did also pass inspection. The new ****** that was printed and uploaded shows the total loss and in red states " this incident was first available for display by ****** on 03/08/2022". We sold the vehicle in January 2022.We didn't know and was completely unaware or we would have not bought and sold the unit. I previously said to contact ****** to see if it was an error, has that been done. Because normally when a vehicle is a total loss the title will be branded. Your title is not. Please contact ******.
