We are filing a complaint against Peters Plumbing for breach of contract and failure to complete a prepaid plumbing job despite multiple confirmed appointments.Over a year ago, we paid in full for a major plumbing repair at our property at ******************************************. Our tenants moved out, due to the need to remove the kitchen and flooring to access the plumbing. We received written confirmation that the job would be completed once the unit was vacant. (Our Tenant was ***** ******* plumbing company referred to him as ***** *****)To accommodate, we had the tenant move out earlylosing rental incomeand removed the kitchen and floors. The work was scheduled a month in advance, and we received repeated assurances from dispatcher ****** that everything was on track.Despite this, Peters Plumbing failed to show up on four separate occasions, including one visit we made by flying to ******* specifically to oversee the job. Eventually, a worker arrived after 4 PM, unprepared and without tools. He got a tool stuck in the concrete floor (which is still there) and left, saying he was too tired to continue. He promised to return with a team but never showed.Calls and texts to the company and plumbers ****** and ****** went unanswered. This has caused financial loss, property damage, and severe inconvenience. We have full documentation of payment, communications, and confirmations, and are also filing a complaint with the ********************************************************** (DBPR).Initial Complaint

We originally had this company out to repair a tankless water heater. Even though the unit was only two yrs old, they told us we had to do a complete replacement and the charge for installation and the unit was $1350.00 Less than two weeks after a brand new unit was installed, the unit broke. At that time I was traveling and only my wife was in the property After several calls and promises. To come out to the house over two days, they finally showed up on 5/23 and said we needed another unit and that the original installer should have told us that we needed to upgrade the electrical. Its not clear if the electrical would have been sufficient for a different unit with different poseer requirements, that cost would be $1550.. My wife paid the ******* on that day and they came out to the house the next day to do the repair and installation. Had I known at the time of the original replacement to. The 6th that the total cost would be over 3k, I would have shopped other companies but now since I had already purchased the unit from the, on the ***, Also, at this time the company is negligent for not advising us properly that they were putting on a unit that would not be adequately supported by our current electical set up. On the 23, a different installer that the day before advised us that we needed to change out the breaker box and that costs was *******. On the receipt it said replace tankless heater and change breaker box. We should not have been charged this amount, I have since put in daily calls to this company with never a return call from a manager to get a refund of this $2850 as the breaker box is the same as prior to the installation, and they should not have charged us for replacement of a unit that was under warranty. I have asked to,speak directly to management several times and have been denied. Inquires into the status of my over billing dispute are either explained that it is with management or it is with accounting.Initial Complaint

Company hands me an invoice for a certain amount based on a calculated observation. Per the contract on that invoice the deposit made is only non-refundable if customer cancels based on the amount set on paper. Later 2 different coworkers come and want to charge %300 more for the job but only from observation. I refused to go on with the agreement because no job has been started, nothing has been done so it makes sense that I want to look for a different company, since the price went up %300 percent based on nothing other than them wanting more money. Since no work was started, no tools were used. Only a 3 minute observation was done and they marked up the price I decided to not go on with the agreement. Now they won't give me the deposit back after they hooked me with a lower price and zero work was done. Every time I call them they give me excuses and tell me they would call back, and never do. Not only do I want my deposit back, I also want them reported since most of their reviews complaint about the same problem. They re a deceitful company, which lacks efficiency, accountability and have horrible customer service. I still have the invoice with me.Business Response

Ive waited over a month since Peters plumbing apologized through BBBs reply system and they said they would send me a check for the amount I paid in the deposit. Two weeks after the check was supposedly sent I called to confirm and the situation had changed to We havent sent the check because it has to be approved by the ownersIs Now a month and a half and still no check. Company continues lying and delaying the check to see if I give up.

I originally reached out to a company called Five Star Plumbing to get an estimate, and they had ******* Plumbing contact me. I received an estimate from them for $1711.05 on February 28, 2025. This was for a lid repair, riser, and new baffle on my septic tank. The current lid is broken and I needed to get this fixxed. I paid the deposit, which was half the amount of the total estimate or $****** on February 29, 2025. They agreed to come on Saturday, and they told me that I would be on the schedule for that Saturday, March 1. Thus began the four week odyssey of them making excuses for why they couldn't get me on the schedule.Week 1: They told me they had me on the schedule for Saturday. Saturday comes, I head over to the property to wait. I get a call saying they couldn't fit me in that day. I said no problem and they put me on the schedule for the next week.Week 2: I head over to the property at the designated time window. The designated time window passes without a phone call, a text, or any communication whatsoever. I call and the secretary tells me they might come in an hour. I wait more. I call again, then a male voice told me that the new secretary screwed up and they couldn't get me on the schedule for that day, but they could come the next saturday.Week 3: Once again, the time window passes. I receive no phone call. I call and the secretary tells me that, once again, they will not be able to get me in that day. By this point I am frustrated and I realize that I can't trust them to do this job. I ask for my deposit back. The secretary told me to call on Monday when the accountant was in the office. I've called the next morning and she said the accountant would call me to ask what form of refund I wanted. No call back, and when I called again they said "no refunds of deposits." Never once has anyone called me to even apologize and they have not attempted to render service. I want my ****** deposit back.Business Response

Date of service: 03/17/2025. Complaint: After Peters Plumbing spent over 1 hr at my home the work he was hired to was not done. He tried to badger me into buying a new toilet and scammed me into paying for work which did not solve the issue. He did not inform me I could pay using the **** app, but instead requested I give him a check. After his visit I had to call another plumber (Roto-Rooter) who cleared the clogged drain and replaced a piece in the toilet tank, which stopped the leaking, this plumber told me I did not need a new toilet and the clog was at the base of the drain pipe, a place Peters plumber didn t even bother to look. Peters plumbing ate liars and scammer, taking advantage of your customers without thinking of the financial harm he is causing. In addition, Peters Plumbing also uses three different business names (Peters Plumbing, Arial ********, and **************************) I want a full refund of $225.00 returnedBusiness Response

I am filing a formal complaint against Peters Plumbing ***** located at **************************************************, for unsafe installations, deceptive business practices, and overcharging consumers in distress. On November 18, 2023, I hired them to replace a 40-gallon natural gas water heater at **********************************************. The installation was overpriced, improperly completed, and missing critical components. Due to their faulty work, my system failed early, and on February 20, 2025, they charged me $500 for an unnecessary valve replacement instead of fixing their mistake.Issues with the ************************************************ of Transparency:Charged $2,500 for a standard water heater installation.Added a 3.7% card fee ($46.25) without clear disclosure.Improper ********************* Concerns:Installed a SharkBite shut-off valve, which is not code-compliant for gas lines.Gas connector was incorrectly installed, posing a ***************************** relief (T&P) valve discharge pipe may not meet safety standards.Intentional Negligence No Sediment Tray Installed:The sediment tray was deliberately omitted, shortening the water heaters lifespan. This ensures premature failure, forcing future service calls.Wrongful Charges February 20, 2025 ($500 for an Unnecessary Valve Replacement):When the water heater failed due to their faulty work, I called them back.Instead of fixing their original mistakes, they replaced the wrong part and charged me $500.This suggests intentional overcharging or gross incompetence.Pattern of Predatory Business Practices:I have spoken to multiple people with similar experiences. This company preys on customers in emergencies, overcharging and performing substandard work.Business Response

We understand your concerns regarding the charges associated with your water heater installation. The total cost of $2,500 reflects both the labor and materials necessary for the job, which you agreed to at the time.
As for The 3.7% Credit card FEE it was addressed properly as well as it is stated on our contract that Mr. ***** signed.
The safety concerns that Mr. ***** is worried about are no reasons to be worried and most definitely are not reasons for his water heater to be faulty.
we are willing to schedule an appointment and inspect any concerns that Mr. ***** has.

The company did repiping work on the house that we paid $4,200 for. After moving in we noticed there were a few issues including no water going to the washing machine, only hot water going to the bathroom downstairs and the biggest and main concern, theres leaking from the bathrooms upstairs that leak from the ceiling into the bathroom/laundry room downstairs. We have called the company multiple times and they ended up sending a worker over who only fixed the issue with the water going to the washing machine and said would be back to fix the other issues. Some days passed and we heard nothing back so we tried calling again multiple times and kept reaching this person called ***, who every single time tells us shes in a meeting and would call us back, but never does. When we call back to ask why we havent heard back she starts raising her voice in a very rude tone, interrupting us and eventually hanging up the phone. We need someone to come and fix the leaking caused by your companys work. It has been MONTHS of trying to reach you for a resolution and we keep getting rudely hung up on and nothing is being done about it. We will not let this issue go no matter what it takes. I look forward to hearing back from you.Customer Answer

The company got back to me the same day of the complaint and told me they would send a plumber out and we would have to pay for the work. I told themthe issue should be covered under warranty so we shouldnt have to pay for anything. *** (the office person, not sure what her position is), agreed to send a plumber to check out the issue free of cost and we would go from there. The plumber came to the house yesterday and today I get an invoice for $202.50 which we are obviously not paying. Not only was ZERO work done, all the plumber did was give us the same run around and tell us they are not responsible for the work, but also I was very clearly told this visit was going to be free of charge to assess the leaking. Shame on you Petes Plumbing.Customer Answer

Property's septic tank needed to be cleaned. Peters Plumbing quoted $4200 stating the pipes were disintegrating and they couldn't snake. Called a different plumber who was a referral. He said the pipes were fine, ******* Plumbing was trying to scam the client, and he snaked the septic for $300. ******* Plumbing did no work and charged $400, refusing any sort of refund. They stated they would give a credit. I would never work with this company. This is so unethical.Business Response

Dear BBB Representative,
I am writing in response to the complaint filed by Ms. ******* regarding the plumbing service provided at her property.
Ms. ******* originally contacted us for assistance with a clogged toilet and sink. We arrived on site, performed our inspection and proceeded to snake the septic, but unfortunately, the line was not cleared. We provided the client with our recommendation which she declined and no further work was completed.
We value customer feedback and always attempt to resolve any and all issues.
Best regards,

I am rejecting this response because: I want a refund for not performing the job that someone else easily did, and also quoting an additional $4200 to try to come and perform more work. At the least, refund the $400. We then had to pay for $300 for the same job on top of the $400 we paid you. Professionally, a refund should be given and more training should be offered to your technicians.
Sincerely,
***** *******Business Response

Good morning *** *******,
Unfortunately, as per your signed invoice it clearly states stoppages are not guaranteed. Our technician attempted to address the issue and provided further recommendations. Also, as per our invoice, which you signed and agreed to, refunds are not provided however Peters Plumbing did extend a credit to be used for any of your future plumbing needs.
Thank you,

On June 27, 2023 after being referred by a family friend and seeing ******* Plumbing **** on Angies list, I decided to give them a call to address an issue I was having with water coming up through my flooring. A pair of technicians came out, said they did the leak detection camera and ears and that there was a leak and charged a total of $3975 ($475 of which was for leak detection and ears) to start opening up the floor to find the leak and an additional $250 per ft after the 1st 3ft to chase. I decided to delay the work until further notice and go through my insurance. After months of deliberation with the insurance company, they found that there was no leak and that it was a moisture issue. I then reached out to Peters Plumbing in March of 2024 to get a refund of $3500 since there was no work performed by them. They told me they would have to send a supervisor to assess the situation. The Field supervisor **** came out and did a leak detection and camera and showed 2 problem areas in the garage that they said were causing the leak. They then charged me an additional $8000 to repair the two holes in the garage as well as dig inside the living room and repair the leak there and had me finance the repair with Synchrony. They dug up my garage for 2 days and filled it in then told me the leak was repaired. Thinking that my problem had finally been resolved, I discovered a few days later new moisture was between the tiles and the problem had not been fixed. I reached back out to Peters Plumbing and they sent **** back out, he referred me to an insurance adjuster and gave me no resolution. I tried contacting Peters a few times, this time they sent a more senior supervisor than **** who checked the cleanout and found it to be the problem. He then called Synchrony, attempting to see if I had any additional credit to fix the cleanout. I told him I was not paying them a cent more. Peters Plumbing put me $12000 in the hole for a $300 issue. Predatory and fraudsters.Business Response
