On June 29, 2018, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, (Newport News), Case #:18-50505 filed a complaint under U.S.C 110 seeking Disgorgement, Injunctive Relief, and Civil Penalties against bankruptcy petition preparers Matthew Mascarenhas aka Bruce Robert Porter, aka Matthew Porter individually and dba Porter Group, Michael V. Martorano, individually and dba Porter Group, and Rock C.G. of South Florida Inc.. The aforementioned entities are alleged to be in violation of 11 U.S.C 110 by not disclosing themselves as petition preparers on any documents prepared for filing with the court, engaging in the unauthorized practice of law, and engaging in fraudulent, deceptive and unfair conduct. The case is currently active.
