1 starBobs sent out a *** to give an estimate for flooring. He included 3 transitional stops for a room that only needed one. The would not refund the 2 that were never needed. If you ever get an estimate from them make sure you get it in writing and verify what is included. Be careful if you do business with them.Bob's Carpet and Flooring

1 starBob's Carpet agreed to do the entire house for $7,000, materials & installation. Removal of the old carpet and planking was included. Their employee came and took measurements. Their invoice says they will do the entire house, minus the sunroom. When the old flooring was removed, it was discovered that I needed a new subfloor. I could see the problem. They gave me three choices:
1. take back the product and give me a full refund
2. have their subfloor person do the job and Bob's Carpet would install the vinyl planking
3. find someone of my choosing to do the subfloor and have him lay the planking
I took #3 because the subfloor person I found did the job for $3K less than Bob's Carpet was offering and the subfloor person could install the vinyl planking immediately. I wouldn't have to wait 2-3 weeks for Bob's Floor schedule the installation. The subfloor person charged $500 less to install.
I gave Bob's Carpet $3,500 deposit for materials. They got mad because I didn't call them to schedule the installation & sent me an invoice for $1539 more. When the subfloor men laid the vinyl planking, there was not enough materials to do 2 bathrooms and the laundry area. I contacted Bob's Carpet and they refused to send me the additional 11 boxes that they shorted me. I have an invoice that details they would do the entire house, They said I had to pay them the $1539 and then, they would sell me the additional 11 boxes at double the price I paid for the original product. The sales person said I was paying $2.90 per sq ft of product. I requested an itemized breakdown of materials. It stated I was paying $3.99 per sq ft. They charged an additional $300+ for removal of the original floor. If I wanted the remaining 11 boxes, they were going to charge me $5.19 per sq ft. So, now, I'm left without flooring for 2 bathrooms and the laundry.
The office manager sent an email saying "if I didn't pay the $1539 by Friday, they were going to take me to collections".Bob's Carpet and Flooring

Donna we are sorry that you are frustrated. We had two people calculate the square footage that was needed for your home. This was documented on your sales contract and what you purchased. If a Bob's installer had done the installation and we were short of material, we would have absorbed the cost and completed the contracted installation. We did not do the installation, and you hired your own installer. We have no way of knowing if he installed this properly and was being efficient with the material usage. He could easily have made mistakes, cut boards incorrectly, wasted boards and/or installed in an area not on the contract. This is not our responsibility. You have purchased product only in an agreed upon quantity and we have a signed contract. You are legally required to pay the remaining balance.Donna L

This is a complete untruth. In the last email, you stated that three people took measurements. Now, you say two people measured my house. Neither of these are the truth. Only one person measured and that was Chris P****. Two other people accompanied Chris to my house for the purpose of pointing out that I needed a new subfloor. I agreed that they were correct. I was given three options: 1. receive a full refund for the materials that were delivered
2. let Bob's carpet subcontractor replace the subfloor and then Bob's Carpet would lay the planking
3. get my own subfloor installer and let him lay the floor
I chose #3. This person was recommended by your own salesperson. He did not waste any flooring. I was there each and every day observing their work.
I have your sales contract which states the entire house would be planked, including the closets, except for the sunroom. Now, I have three rooms without planking. I'm left with two 8' pieces of 1/4" round molding. This couldn't possibly finish the remaining three rooms. The bottom line is that your salesperson did not measure accurately and now, you want me to pay for the missing planking and molding. No way. You made the mistake and you need to rectify it. If necessary, we'll meet in court.Review fromS. U.

1 starBobs carpet and Flooring located on ************** very bad customer service. I was promised a 9:30- 10:30 install but no one called and when i finally reached the store- they said the truck broke down and were sending another installer so i should just wait. I said wait how long and why don't you call your installer and find out what's going on.The new installer called at 11:15 and said he was on the way- no arrival time specified. I could hear he had a child in the background but assumed wrongly that he would take his child home before arriving for installation. When he finally arrived now I had been waiting(I don't live at the installation location -i waited 2.5 hours+ . When the installer arrived with his toddler - he barely spoke and bulldozed his way into our house with his child. I asked him to not run his equipment over a newly painted area- he said its fine. That's about all he said - I called the store and brought the Realtor over - I said this was highly unusual and inappropriate to bring a child along. ***'s carpet acted like it was no big deal. This house was freshly painted and cleaned with a toddler running around bouncing off the walls with no supervision except the installer yelling at his child. The realtor agreed its unsafe, inappropriate *** liability. ***'s carpet never took my calls, I had to use another persons phone so they would answer- I clear indication of dishonest behavior. The installer left, the store never contacted me to follow up, but charged my credit c. immediately. Later I called them again and again they would NOT take my call but when my message said I was going to file a complaint they called back. I was stone walled again-told I was asking for $ back when indeed what they needed to do was deal with a problematic installer and an unsafe situation. Don't trust or believe them. Be in fear for your safety and liability with rouge installers. ***'s carpet is desperate to use and not correct inappropriate behavior.Bob's Carpet and Flooring

Your answer Bob's carpet is standard and not addressing the issue. Since I posted this comment all over social media and next door- you are NOT a favored business and I found out I am NOT the only one that had this experience with this installer. In another case, he brought his father and girlfriend along. I also learned that Bob's carpet asks for bidders on their installations and choses low bidders - which aligns with my experience. You, Bob's carpet on 53rd ave in Bradenton might also address the fact that you would NOT take my calls but when I called form another phone and area code, you immediately answered the phone. NOT very reputable. You also accused me of wanting money back on this terrible experience and job even though I NEVER asked for that, you just assumed that your unsatisfied customer would want something since you treated them with bad service. You volunteered to discuss with your manager and she would call me the next morning which NEVER happened. You are hiding behind your problems. You did not apologize or service my issue. You allow Bad installers and practices that are unethical , not to mention dangerous since the child was NOT being watched- just yelled at by his installer father. This is all unethical and ignoring me was your decision and shows how cowardly you are to NOT address these issue's. DO NOT USE BOB"S CARPET ON 53#rd ave in Bradenton. They do NOT deserve BBB accreditation.Review fromJM

2 starsSo I purchased vinyl planking for my entire home and had it installed by ***'s ************************************************ Within 2 years of having the floors the product corners started lifting and the product itself started to curl and separate from the base. I called ***'s *********************************************** and they arranged for several different inspectors to come out and see the floors. After being asked by each inspector and also statements from ***'s own employees if there was a moisture barrier installed under the product? My answer was according to my invoice no there was no charge for it. Each person and ***'s employee that came out to my house said there should have been. ***'s refused to replace my floors initially stating that "I must have a water leak." Mind you the places where the floors are lifting a various areas in different parts of my house no where near a water source not to mention my house is 1 story. After going back and forth with them they agreed to provide me with new floors but they would not install them nor would they include a moisture barrier. I called to have the product delivered and they told me they do not deliver and I would need to go rent a truck to pick up my floors. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I spent close to $10K for my new floors and am stuck. They also told me there was no warranty for the install or the product. Stay away from this company unless you want to be robbed of thousands of dollars and stuck with your home being devalued! .Bob's Carpet and Flooring

We are very sorry that you are frustrated with us Jill. You contacted us after your floor was out of warranty. We wanted to help you out regardless and asked for an inspection on your floor. Per the inspection report the flooring issues were caused by a large island cabinet with a heavy countertop that was installed on top of the new vinyl plank flooring after we had installed the floor. This caused the plank ends to slightly raise upwards as the expansion of the flooring has been restricted from it's normal movement. Per the inspector this restriction of moment was the problem for your entire floor. The inspection report did not mention a moisture issue. Even though this flooring issue was not caused by us, we offered you new material free of charge. Unfortunately we do not offer delivery services. Again, we are very sorry for your frustrations.JM

The flooring issues are not in the dinning/kitchen area. The issues are in the living room, master bedroom and hallway. So there is no reason to even mention the kitchen island.Review fromLeigh T.

1 starUPDATE - READ BELOW:Carpet installation finished earlier today with loose, frayed edges, tenting/bubbling material and lifting of corners in all rooms.Carpeting on the stairs is also extremely loose with several areas that area are entirely unsecured by tack strips or adhesive. This was not the case for the outgoing carpet. Both kids bedrooms have loose material, frayed edges and visible rippling/bubbling of carpet over the subfloor. It's unsightly but worst of all it's unsafe. Loose carpet on stairs is a major trip hazard and we have children. The entire job must be redone to repair the unacceptable worksmanship. It's a major inconvenience for my family and I won't be paying the balance until it's done right.UPDATE - 9/21 Install team for the carpet RE-INSTALLATION arrived without enough carpet to properly repair all the issues the original installation team caused. GM from the store ************ clearly told me and my wife that the "entire [carpet] would have to be replaced" to account for all the messy seams, frayed edges and loosely secured material. Today, the installer arrived with a complicated handwritten chart that detailed how to deconstruct the carpet and patch it back together so that all areas needing attention would be recovered. Only a minimal amount of new material was ordered because leadership determined it was better than replacing everything (as was explicitly discussed with me at the outset of this nightmare). The very competent installer quickly concluded the new, cheaper, solution was inappropriate and, in fact, impossible given the nature of the mistakes he was charged with fixing. In short, he did not have what he needed to get the job done because someone at ***'s had decided to cut corners and take a shot at fixing things on the cheap.I've contacted corporate and begun the process of escalation.Review fromLORRAINE K
