    We hired this contractor (****) to resurface our pool in December; we requested to be scheduled mid-to end of March We gave a $2,000 "materials" deposit. On March 17th he committed to a Monday, March 20th start but didn't show up; on Tuesday, materials were delivered but they no showed again; and again on Wednesday. Finally, on Thursday (after repeated text and phone calls to ****) his "partner" ***** showed up at 430pm with a pump to drain the pool. ***** was over the top crude (extreme cussing about his crew and his clients), was gone in 10 minutes, left equipment that needed tending with no instructions. While he was here, he stated "they'd" be back first thing in the morning; they came late Friday afternoon, hosed down the empty pool, chiseled about a quart of concrete from one corner of the pool, did a cut below the tile line and removed (and broke) the pool light then left, stating they'd be back first thing Saturday morning. But they weren't. After a text message was sent to the company owner, ****, asking what the heck was going on, we were told they'd be there at 3pm. Instead of a crew, the same "partner", ***** showed up. I told him that I was upset and frustrated over the weeklong delay in starting the job and expressed my concern about damages to my in ground pool which had been empty since just before midnight on Thursday. His response was to be overtly crude AGAIN, antagonistic, insulting, sexist, argumentative, threatening and intimidating. After a short, ugly exchange, I demanded he leave my property. When we heard back from **** that evening, he stated HE would personally start the job the next Tuesday at 8am with his full crew. On Monday night, he contacted ** and said that he wasn't going to make it, and that ***** would be there instead, between 11am-1pm and that we now had to pay ***** the balance of $4,000 in cash before they'd start. We fired them. Our expense to hire a new company is higher; our timeline is another 6 weeks away.
