The process for inventory estimates is terrible. There was an initial estimate given of ~$4k in Mar25. During the ** call for the final inventory, there were a couple lamps, bags and a box spring that I added but this somehow increased our cubic feet and total cost by ~50%, or $6.6k. Additionally, Safe Ship did not communicate some move details such as first delivery date with the shipper, which we had to reconfirm. We were given misinformation from Safe Ship regarding items stored in the car for auto transport. Safe Ship told us that we were able to pack items in the car, however, the auto shipper informed us that generally NO items should be packed in the car, which is leading to more additional charges (~$200). Lastly, you guys communicated an auto pick up ETA with me, without properly aligning with the shippers schedule beforehand, leading to a delay with the auto pick up. Safe Ship is just a terrible middle man company here to provide additional charges, friction and frustration in an already stressful situation of long distance moving.Business Response

We understand how important accurate estimates and clear coordination are during a long-distance move, and I apologized if the process left you feeling frustrated. Inventory-based estimates are calculated on the space your items require, and even small additions can impact the overall cubic footage and cost. Auto transport policies, including restrictions on items inside vehicles, are determined by the carrier, and we share the most current guidance available at the time of booking. Your feedback will be reviewed to help improve communication and alignment with carriers so that expectations are as clear and seamless as possible.Customer Answer

Complaint: 23672639
I am rejecting this response because it is only repeating the same policies over again. Safe Ship customer service is continuously attempting to place blame on the customer instead of having accountability for their bad inventory practices with initial/final estimates, communication with the shippers, and inability to set proper expectations BEFOREHAND. The only acceptable resolution is the requested refund amount of $1500.
Sincerely,

Safe Ship moving broker has lacked transparency and provided misinformation from the very first phone call and still has not delivered my belongings. It has been a total of 34 days since Cobra Vanlines moving company took my belongings, and 20 days since my first date of available delivery - all coordinated by Safe Ship moving broker. The Safe Ship logistics coordinator scheduled my first available delivery date for Friday, July 4th never acknowledging that the holiday might impact these plans or that it was unlikely the moving company would even operate on that day. I contacted customer service on July 3rd and was assured that delivery would happen on July 4th. Relying on this information, I moved to *******, only to discover that the moving company was not even operating on July 4th and my belongings had never left the ********************************* representatives completely omit the fact that delivery could be delayed up to 30 business days when coercing customers over the phone into booking with them. They hide this fact down in the fine print of a barrage of documents and hold it against you once the movers have your belongings and they've started collecting over $5,000 in moving costs. Safe Ship promotes a stress-free moving experience, but I have unfortunately experienced the opposite. I've spent hours calling customer service because they never call back. On July 10th a Safe Ship representative told me my items would be loaded at the beginning of next week. Another told me delivery was anticipated July *****th. Today is July 24th and my belongings are still not here and no one at Safe Ship or Cobra Vanlines can even tell me where my belongings are. I've never been able to make an informed decision because this company has kept me misinformed the entire time. The lack of accurate information, profound delays, and inconsistent communication is abysmal. I will never use or recommend either of these companies to anyone.Business Response
Date: 07/25/2025
We understand how upsetting extended delays and lack of clear communication can be, especially during a major life event like a move. The delivery windowup to 30 business daysis included in the written agreements and Bill of Lading, but we recognize that during the stress of planning a relocation, it may not always receive the attention it deserves. This timeframe is in place to accommodate long-distance travel regulations, scheduling logistics, and other industry-wide factors. We acknowledge that the coordination around your requested delivery date could have been handled with more care, especially given the timing, and we are actively reviewing internal processes to ensure better planning in the future. Your concerns about inconsistent updates are valid, and the lack of responsiveness is being addressed with our logistics team to ensure this doesnt continue happening to others. We are actively working to get you your delivery and will contact you as there is an update.Customer Answer

Portrayed themselves as a moving company when theyre actually a broker. I was not informed that they were a broker, and they took $6730.70 to book my move. All the while, they pretended that my payments were being applied to my moving expenses. When I confronted them, they begged me not to file a complaint with the *** INTERNET ***************** I agreed to wait until the move was complete. I attempted to contact the company, but the phone number, name, and email addresses were all false. I have disputed the charges on my credit card. I believe this company is operating using deceptive practices. They are not listed in the Chamber of Commerce business directory for ********** or *************, their business addresses. They are not accredited by the BBB. NONE OF THE MONIES I PAID TO THEM WENT TO THE ACTUAL MOVING COMPANY! Id appreciate whatever assistance you could provide.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: ************* Safe Ship moving, is not Transparent; when I was told $1200 to ship my car with a $500 down payment that wasnt true. They charged me $520 to make the appointment with the car transportation service. The true service cost was $700.
I was charged $200 for bubble wrap that WAS NOT USED! I was told that having things stretch wrapped would cost extra, which wasnt true. They even said an armchair was a loveseat, why the cost of the move is based on cubic feet a loveseat takes up more space than an armchair, so more lies more money
My first moving quote was $2700. I actually got rid of furniture and possessions after that and then they charge me another $3700 by then it was June. I had already sold my condo I had to leave I was stuck between a rock and a hard place so I tried to work it out when I learned what they were doing. I confronted them and told them I was gonna report them to the *** Internet fraud department. I was called and begged not to do so, but Due to more deception I have also filed complaints with The Attorney General of Florida, the Florida department for professional regulations, just to mention a few.
NONE OF THE MONIES PAID TO SAFE SHIP MOVING, WENT TO THE ACTUAL ENCORE MOVING SERVICES THE COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY PERFORMED THE MOVE!

We do apologize that you feel that way. All information regarding our role, pricing, and payment structure was clearly outlined in the paperwork, verification call, and compliance scripts. I had one of the worst experiences imaginable with this moving company. My belongings were mishandled, and my family was disrespected including being called names by the moving crew. It was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.I was charged for storage space I clearly didnt use, and the movers tried to tack on last-minute charges at pickup. I documented everything and left a five-minute voicemail explaining the situation to the companys agent. Since then, Ive made numerous follow-up calls, and no one from management has responded, refunded me, or helped me retrieve my home contents. The lack of accountability and communication is astounding. Once they take your money, its radio silence. I would never recommend this company to anyone.Business Response

My contents have not been delivered.
You have made me and my family wait 30 days for our home contentsand that is trusting that they will be here Monday 7/28.I have never received a confirmation that your movers are actually delivering my home contents by 7/28theyve had my contents since 7/7. Your movers have told me I needed to reverse reviews and close the *** case in order to receive my contents. They have tried to threaten my minor grandson instead they got my oldest son and actual vet. The phone calls stopped after that. Your movers are highway pirates.

Safe ship coordinated a move with No borders moving company for us to move from ***, **** to ********. We did two walk throughs to confirm the amount of items being moved. We were told 2 trucks and 2 movers would come to load it all up. The morning of the move only one mover arrived with a small truck. He was unable physically to load the truck and since he had no help, my husband had to help him. He helped so much that he injured his back. The next morning we were upset and spoke to No Borders. They insisted that they had two movers and two trucks. We have video and photo proof that this is a lie. They then proceeded to tell us that now we owe an additional $4100. They would not finish the work until we signed a document. They bullied and threatened us. Safe ship was contacted each time and did nothing to help this situation. They are a complete scam who doesnt care for their customers at all. They are completely fraudulent.Business Response

******** spoke with me about my move. We said we were in the process of finding a home in ******** , ** or Duluth Mn . We went through all our items piece by piece. He said our quote wouldnt change unless we added more items. He said we could move within 500 miles or both those areas. We would store our items with them for a month. We paid $1,506 security deposit. The total of the move would be $5800 Three days before the move they called us and went through items again. ******** didnt give us right sizes of our items ( even though we told him measurements) . We did add some items but, subtracted larger items we gave to family. The gentleman went to talk to his boss came back said he had two issues ; one that our storage would be higher , but he fixed that. The second was that our move was now interstate and would be $23000 . Then he got it to 16 k then since Im an RN $16k . He apologized as that cost was significantly higher then the guy we realized didnt know how to do his job quoted and we signed for. Our deposit we were told we had 10 minutes to come up with an additional $4,200 dollars and if we couldnt pay our move would be canceled. He said he was going home to his wife . We panicked . I almost passed out. Moving is already difficult and now I didnt feel good. My wife said we were being scammed . She tried to talk with him but, got apologizes stating he was sorry for Jonathans lack of knowledge but, he couldnt do anything about it. The next day we called to get our deposit back as we were too scared to give this company any more money in fear they would take more. The guy was nice he said ******** would be written up or fired. He transferred us to the quality team where they lowered the quote to 9 k but we couldnt pay anything feeling like we were scammed. She then hung up on us after telling us our deposit was non refundable. Then she email binder a forfeit the deposit with a signature line. I realized i never signed that. I am rejecting this response because:the change in cost was due to only a small change in weight and was because even though I was told I could move to Superior WI or within 500 miles of there it was now an interstate move. That change even though I was told was fine prior to paying the deposit was only told once three days prior to the move was gone over via phone call! I was also told by a representative that , we have a lot of new hires. We are sorry , and that employee will be let go. And I requested a quality review I was hung up on several times.

On June 13 2025 I contacted Safe Ship Moving *** to inquire about hiring movers with a truck to move from my apartment in ** to MD which is around 65 miles according to ****** map.The representative asked what items I had and I told him a regular size sofa, 2 queen bed frames and mattresses, 2 dressers, a chair with an ottoman, a kitchen table with 4 chairs, a 55in tv and a tv stand. He asked me how many boxes of household items I had and I said about 15 large and medium moving boxes from ***********The price he said was $1045 first then $682 at pickup and $682 at drop off. I paid $1045 with a credit card and the moving date was set at July 14 or 15.On July 11 they called and asked again what items needed moving and I repeated the same stuff as I told them in the beginning. He then said the sofa wasnt on the list plus I only can have 15 small boxes so the charge will be $1000 at the pickup $1000 at delivery. I know I told them about the sofa because he asked if it was a sectional and I told him it was a regular sized sofa. They dropped this on me a just days before my moving date and I am very upset about how they went about trying to ***** more money knowing I only have a few days before I have to vacate my apartment. I got upset and canceled the truck because I couldnt trust them anymore. I felt they could add more charges at anytime for any reason they could come up with.I am in a super stressful situation with everything packed and no truck now!I want to file this complaint so youre aware this company is dishonest and will scam people at their most vulnerable moment. They have a fancy website with good reviews and thats why I contacted them at first but had no idea how they would try to scam more money just before moving date.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
**** ***I want a full refund of $1045. My belongings have not changed but your company took out sofa and changed box sizes to small only to collect more money. I will retain counsel if necessary to follow through.

We acknowledge your experience and the deep frustration you've expressed. I apologized for any inconvenience caused during this transitional time in your life. We understand how important transparency and trust are, especially when dealing with something as personal as a long-distance move. While pricing can change based on the scope of the move, there are some other factors that can cause change in pricing per say, if more space is needed. I apologized once again if the process left you feeling unsupported We always aim to make our clients feel informed and cared for through this process, . Your feedback is being taken seriously and will be reviewedCustomer Answer

The explanation they gave is in no way satisfactory. I never added or changed any items from the original order. They never asked me to go over the items and sign the form but rushed me by saying everything looks good just scroll down to the last section and e-sign to the agreed to the price. When I actually saw the document after July 11th, I noticed they purposely did not list (or took out) the sofa and changed the size of boxes from what I told them.
