Purchased a popcorn popping bowl for use in the microwave. It has always caused issues trying to pop, but it also triggered the microwave to basically destroy itself today. (Safety feature, as the temperature of the microwave got so hot that it disabled itself permanently so as not to impose any further safety hazards. My spouse is a quality engineer and can explain precisely what happened.) ****** sitting near the microwave also got extremely hot. No breakers/fuses tripped. The microwave was so hot I had to wait ****************************** order to take it outside. I did use it in any way other than the instructions. I stood in the kitchen observing the microwave while in use. It had been on about 3 minutes and only half the kernels had popped.I emailed their customer service to complain about our $200 microwave being destroyed by their product overheating it with super heated vapor. After this, I read through reviews of the product where his has also happened to other customers. Their email reply was basically its the microwaves fault, not ours. Its unconscionable to disregard destruction of customers property due to a faulty design of their product and to ignore the hazard of ***** and fire. Other companies such as **** have recalled their similar products after reports of *****, fires, and malfunctions.
