On 9/12/23 my *** was displaced inside my uterus and was confirmed displaced by 2 telehealth consultations with doctors who suggested I have it removed as soon as possible. I made an appointment with MyDoc Womens Specialist over the phone for 9/18/23 and when I asked for a Good Faith ********* was told that would be provided to me at the office. Because I did not have insurance at this point having just moved to *******, but being well informed about the No Surprised Act created to protect uninsured parties from surprise bills, I asked the office for a good faith estimate of the cost of *** removal. I was very specific to both the receptionist and doctor that I only wanted the *** removed and did not want anything extra. I told her I needed to know the exact amount I would be charged total for this visit. She told me that she understood, and I was told this cost would come to a TOTAL of $350 as long as I did not want a full gynecological check up that would have included a papsmear and testing. I confirmed to them (and then the doctor) that I did not want ANYTHING else done besides the removal of the ***. I was then asked to sign the paperwork and as I was going through it there was a financial agreement that said I would be financially responsible. At the time I was uncomfortable signing it and brought it up to the front desk who told me not to worry because I had already paid for the *** removal and that nothing else would be done so I wouldnt need to worry about it. Once I went back into the procedure room, my doctor at first said that they might not be able to do the removal today because they would need approval from insurance. I told her that I was self pay and she went to go check with the front desk. She returned to the room to confirm that we were perfectly fine to go forward with the procedure because you have already paid in full for this appointment, of course well take it out.
