  Unacceptable business practices. The original moving estimate was $2.2K, and by the time they subcontracted to two(2) other companies, which were terrible, I ended up paying $7.2K to move my daughter from *********, ** to **********. When I reached back out to the Vanquard representatives, the woman was rude to me, as if I wasn't a client. She had the same attitude as the G&M Movers representative, very negative. I was accused of hollering at the representative, when that wasn't true. Threatened to place me on hold like I was a child. Unfortunately, my daughter was intimidated by the men that showed up at her place in ************, hovering over her as she tried to navigate the situation and get help from both representatives on the phone from G&M Movers (contracted mover) and called Vanguard Moving Services - no answer of course!! She had a flight to move back to the west coast in a few days and shut down all details in **, so she was nervous and felt a lot of pressure. This company is a disgraceful company, and they low-ball estimates and bring in more unacceptable business entities whose businesses should be shut down. When her belongings finally made it to **********, she had to call the police in order to deal with the driver and owner of yet another subcontracted company, ** Movers who collected the remaining payment amount of this $7.2K raggedy deal. Both my husband and I were dealing with the fiasco until all of her assets were unloaded ~ a total nightmare situation. The ****** here is to do your research on any company that you're doing business with; my daughter is young and was trying to handle her business and obviously trusted this unprofessional and crooked company.

  RUN. I received an estimate from Vanguard Moving Services LLC on 1/31/2024 for $3,200.24 for my move from ****** to ******* and I was required to make a $1,220 deposit to reserve, 7 days before pickup, the moving coordinator called to go over my inventory in detail to make sure we had everything and our original estimate was only for 425 cf and the new estimate was now for 715 cf, and the price went up to $5694.57 and they required another deposit of $1,625. The agent required me to sign the contract on the phone and didn't give me time to read the contract. He told me that at pick up and drop off, we would have to pay the moving company by cash, zelle or **** money order of $1,425 each. After reviewing the contract, which was now with Top Tier Moving Group, I called the next day to cancel, but was told since it's within 7 days, and over 72 hours from the original contract, we would lose our deposit. I called the broker the day before because we haven't heard from anyone, and he said the movers would be there on April 30 between 9am-12pm. On pickup day, the moving company (movingprime) called us at 1pm and said they were still 3 hours away. Once they were close, I met them at our storage unit and loaded the items in their box truck and then came to our condo for the rest of the items. The man stated they have to charge us $150 since we have more than 7 stairs (our contract states we have up to 21 steps, and that we are on the 2nd floor). Once inside he tells us that our items need more than 700 cf and sends photos of our items to his manager. She replied back that we needed at least 1400 cf which would would result in thousands of dollars more in moving expenses. We asked the moving company to give us a price to drop the items they have loaded off and cancel anything with them. We paid them $350 by ***** to return the items to our storage unit. I have tried to contact Vanguard and Top Tier and the phone numbers do not work that are on my paperwork.

  My quote started out at 3400.00, every call ended up being more, it ended up %21,000.00 dollars. $21,000.00!! I can't believe I had to pay that..I had to pay deposit with every call, they didnt do a visual on any estimates, so at the day of the move they sort of blamed me saying that my idea of a medium box is different from theirs. I agree, but if they would have come out and gave me an estimate of $21,000.00i would have rented two uhauls and moved and saved over $10,000.00. I was in total shock to be told I had to pay that.. Plus, the truck couldn't get down my road, low tree branches, and I had to pay $2600.00 for them to rent a uhaul to transfer my goods from their moving truckto my house. They were all hard working and nice, but it cost all of my savings for my move.. Be aware, my first quote that sold me on using them was $3400.00. I ended up paying $23,600.00, a difference of $21,000.00. So my move cost me $23,600.00.

  PLEASE DON'T LET THEIR CHEAP PRICE FOOL YOU. I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Van Guards Moving Company. Despite their policy stating that cancellations within 72 hours are acceptable, after I made the $1376 deposits, i canceled a day in advance and was still denied a refund of my deposit. Their refusal to honor their own policy left me with no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company. This lack of integrity and disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable. I strongly advise against using Van Guards Moving Company for anyone looking for reliable and honest service."

  Misleading! Quoted a price and was charged over double when all was said and done. When our belongings were picked we were told that they would fill a semi??? When originally told a box truck would work. They conveniently showed up with a small truck and called for another which upped the price once again. Its all a scam!!! When out belongings arrived in a place other than our home they were taken off a semi and it was less than a third full and were then transferred to a Uhaul where everything fit perfectly. We were then told we owe more! Felt like our belongings were being held hostage. The person you first speak to, promises you the world he was a conman! The whole company is slimy!! As it turns out our belongings were handled by three different carriers, many of our items were broken or damaged beyond repair. We spent nearly ****** to move from, Ca to ****, insane when everything we moved filled a U-Haul! NOT A SEMI! We were *******! Its a huge loss! SUGGEST YOU DO NOT DUE BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!

  This company should be closed and made to refund everyone affected by their scams. We were quoted one price with a balance of $1,000.00 upon delivery. After movers in a u haul loaded our things were told we would ******** more dollars when out things were delivered. We ask them to take our things off the truck. They wanted to charge 200 dollars an hour for both movers. 01/05/24 an eighteen ******* pulls up to our new location expecting to receive another ***** dollars. We don't that kind of money. They said they were taking our things to a storage facility in ******* and that we were responsible for paying the facility. The free storage only applied in **********. So we are stuck with out our things, owing almost $5,000.00 plus storage fee. This is the worst situation. There is 35 years of family pictures and so many things that can't be replaced.

  This company purposely under quoted us to get our business. ******* US!!! We went room by room to get a quote, I explained all the boxes, furniture etc. we had. VanGuard only put the large items on inventory sheet and did not put smaller things like snowboard bags, blanket ladder, etc. He forced me to sign the inventory sheet he sent over via email within minutes and wouldnt hang up phone until I did so. The quote was $6550. Vanguard promised a semi truck partitioned off with metal dividers so our stuff was secure, a crew of 5 men AND expedited delivery within 7 days. We were required to put 30% down immediately, asked us to wrap all our own furniture with moving pads/tape/wrap. The day of pickup - two men in a box truck show up.Movers said you wrapped everything, you didnt have to thats included.Movers said you have significantly more stuff than on inventory sheet. I informed Moving Logistics that Vanguard was aware we needed 16footer for 3 bedroom 2 bath ****sq feet apt.Moving Logistics came back and stated we needed to pay 40% MORE than the original quote-total of $9100. We contacted Vanguard to informed them of the issue. Supervisor blamed us and stated it was our fault as we signed the inventory list - no refund.We asked to speak w/ manager and he said its a weekend, Im the only one available, theyll tell you the same thing anyways. As were back into a corner no other options,30% already paid, we had no choice but to move forward. Two hours into loading, movers had to dispatch ANOTHER truck due to arrive 4 days after first delivery. Due to Vanguard negligence and scamming, we were financially burdened AND inconvenienced with our stuff being separated. The first truck was delayed by 2 days and upon delivery our mirror, entertainment center were broken, furniture dented.Our second truck has not arrived and theyre unable to tell us where the truck is.Vanguard is a **** and so are the moving companies they work with

  I would rate Vanguard Moving Service with a zero out of five stars. My experience with this company was nothing short of a nightmare. Initially, they provided a quote, but once they arrived with no packing material and informing me that the final cost would be significantly higher. Almost doubled the original quote. COMPLETE ****!!!!! Whatever you do, do NOT use this moving company as I told them to get out of my house

  This company is unequivocally unethical and reprehensible. The salesperson, Bill, deceptively lowballs your estimate to secure the deposit. Subsequently, the assurance quality department, led by ****, inflates prices, using demeaning and threatening language to dissuade any attempt to revise the inventory. Once your deposit is in their hands, there's no recourse, and they shamelessly employ various tactics to undermine you. Strongly advise against any dealings with this company – steer clear for your own peace of mind.
