Appointment March 12, 2025 March 31, 2025 I had to call to find out about the results, they just sent a negative email?April 7th and 3 other times, I have asked for the billing TIN and the diagnosis code so I can get reimbursed, they come up with excuses to not provide this information.I need this in order to process my claim and they are well aware of this.They have a great idea but they are failing at the most important part, customer service.Business Response

Hello, *******, HerScan is community based mobile breast ultrasound screening company providing easy access to much needed ultrasound especially for woman with dense breast tissue. We do not accept insurance, nor do you need a prescription because it is a concierge service which requires self-pay. Our website states this information and clearly says we do not provide insurance codes. In reviewing the call and email logs, we do see that the processing team did respond to you within 14 minutes however, we cannot see any missed calls so we would like very much to speak with you so that we can find out where the disconnect is and help in any way we can. We are very proud of our mission and appreciate any feedback that can make us easier to communicate with so please call at your convenience to ************** and ask for the general operations manager. I went for an ultrasound on March 20th of this year. I have an issue with a mass that is in my left armpit, which is painful as is my left breast. This mass has been noted in three previous diagnostic tests. I wanted to see if it has gotten larger because when I palpate it certainly feels like it has. I had to go this route because right now unfortunately I do not have insurance. The technician took exactly 5 minutes to do the ultrasound and that was it. The results came back that they found absolutely nothing. Seriously? The mass was not even noted in the report, not measured, nothing. When I left a review the flippant response I received was since they didn't see it I must be fine lol. I don't know what kind of equipment they're using that they could possibly ignore this. I was told they would rescan but you know what? Once bitten twice shy. I really would like a refund of my money because that was literally $60 a minute and that's ridiculous. I should have listened to the other reviews I saw but unfortunately I went through with it anyway and now I regret it.Business Response

*********, we spoke with the sonographer who graciously looked through your ultrasound screening again immediately and said she would be happy to reimage you, if you prefer. Our sonographer would have never imaged your axilla (underarm area) as she did if she saw something. The Board Certified Radiologist did not see anything on the images either. We take every review and request seriously as you can see with any issues that have been brought to our attention. We have scanned over ******* women and we take every concern seriously. We are a breast cancer ultrasound screening company and we are happy to reimage you again but we cannot measure what is not seen on the ultrasound. I am rejecting this response because: this mass has been measured, documented and biopsied. I was on that table for literally 5 minutes. Please spare me Your righteous indignation about me discrediting your so called mission when you are clearly a for profit organization. Maybe next time the person doing the ultrasound could actually take the 20 minutes promised and do a thorough exam. I don't understand why I need to call you. What exactly are we going to talk about ? About you graciously doing this procedure again for another 5 minutes ? I'll tell you what. Let's be fair about this. Refund me For the 15 minutes that I didn't get and I'll pay for the 5 that I did. I see every person that has ever posted a poor review basically have it turned around on them by you and make seem it like it's all their fault and you have no responsibility whatsoever because you supposedly did your job. You don't need my help being discredited You're doing an excellent job of that on your own.

I paid $300 for a breast scan. I was told that I would have results in 7-10 business days. It has been 15 business days and I have received no results. I have called at least 4 times and left messages. No one returns my calls. I have also emailed them and have received no response. The ultrasound tech who performed the scan told me that she saw abnormalities and noted them for the radiologist so my doctor and care team are waiting. Today I finally decided to read through the 1 star reviews that this company has, and it seems as if there are hundreds of other people with the same complaints as me. I now believe that this company is scamming vulnerable women. This company should be shut down.Business Response

Unfortunately due to the Thanksgiving holiday and the radiologist having an unexpected family emergency there was definitely a delay for which we apologize. I recently did a breast ultrasound with this company. It was set up in a hotel and the cost for this Ultrasound is $300. They also advertised that the results are read by a radiologist.I believe this company is fraudulent and am requesting a refund for the following reasons:1)The ultrasound breast examination was not properly done. It took the technician 5 minutes to do both breast. She did not get areas near the armpit which should have been scanned. 2) The radiologist report was not official. It was basically a box checked and a small comment. It was mentioned that they found something that was most likely benign. No measurements. My doctor started this is not typical what he sees for a radiology report. 3) I had a mammogram and ultrasound because Herscan started they found something and and the follow up test were negative. My doctor wanted to start with an annual mammogram instead of a diagnostic because he did not trust the results and this company which turned out to be correct.Business Response

The Board certified radiologist that signed your report would not have read the bilateral breast ultrasound screening if the images of the axilla (underarm area) were not taken. Your sonographer, not a technician is not only seasoned but ARDMS certified and does breast screenings all over the country so she may not have needed more time than she took but we understand it may have seemed quick compared to the diagnostic ultrasound you had as follow up. I am rejecting this response because:
The second ultrasound was not diagnostic. My doctor did not trust the results from Herscan and we started as a preventative mammogram and ultrasound. Ultrasound at a breast clinic took 20 mins with a machine not manual. Herscan technician took 5 minutes manually. My doctor is seasoned as well and stated we could not use these results. He also stated this is not a radiologist report that is common.Where are the measurement of the mass they found?
They also stated I have dense breast which is incorrect based on the mammogram and ultrasound at the breast clinic.
Lastly, nothing was found on the mammogram and ultrasound during the annual ( not diagnostic) test performed last week. So in that short time the mass went away.
I have to disagree that the technician was seasoned. It took under 3 mins for each breast.
I believe everyone gets a positive result so they can follow up with their doctor and it takes the liability off this company. I believe this is a scam. They have many complaints on Reddit as well.

The power of an ultrasound can increase the detection of breast cancer from approximately 48% to 97%, particularly in women with dense *******.(Dr. ***** ********, **** Study). Ultrasound screenings are capable of detecting cancers that cannot be found by mammography and physical exams alone. Sometimes mammograms and physical exams just are not enough, particularly in women with dense *******.That is what they said in their website!!! stating that breast ultrasounds for dense breast are very important because mammograms can miss breast cancer, due to breast density. So I thought, yes, I have dense breast so maybe I should make an appointment and have the ultrasound to find out if i have cancer!! But result says i need further diagnostics that means i am gonna have another ultrasound or mammogram so why? Because i have dence breast with abnormalities before going i already knew that i had ultrasounds before many years ago they gave me results that said you have abnormal big cysts but they are not cancer. But Herscan saying with the ultrasound technology, they can find out if there is cancer better than mammography. But the results says we found dense breast with abnormalities so you fail now i need to have another ultrasound or a mammogram but the ultrasound is better at Herscan. Isnt it confusing i went there for an answer but now i have more questions and worries !!! I wish to have a refund because i didnt get any service. My wife received a scan 8.23. Received results 8.30. Listed as a category 4. Absolutely devastated us! We scrambled to be seen at the breast center we work at. We were fortunate enough to get in on 9.5 to have mammography and ultrasound. The radiologist was unable to replicate HerScan's images. The radiologist and many contacts of mine who are familiar with HerScan stated that they are notorious for false positives. From my understanding, HerScan has a reputation to overread and they are highly sensitive. Upon further research, I have found that HerScan has horrible reviews on Yelp, BBB, and Reddit. Interesting they have good reviews on ****** only and all those 5 stars seem oddly fishy to me! I am in touch with at least 4 other people from across the country who have had the SAME experience as my wife. I think that HerScan's business model is absolutely HORRID. First off, they aren't that much cheaper than just going to a breast center and paying for a US out of pocket. Secondly, no phone call, no human whatsoever to provide such devastating results. They don't even offer resources! I work in healthcare, I understand that false positives are a thing, HOWEVER, no communication from them ESPECIALLY FOR A CATEGORY 4 issue seems almost criminal. They don't even send to another radiologist at HerScan for a second opinion or confirmation. I am seeking full reimbursement as we now have to pay for these additional mammograms/ultrasounds that wouldn't have been necessary had HerScan use better equipment and hired better Radiologists! I work in *************** and will be contacting my legal experts to see what other alternatives are available to me if we do not receive a refund in full. Since you and your wife work at a breast center than you clearly know that community based screenings do not diagnose and if there is a visible abnormality the board certified radiologist will recommend further diagnostic testing. And yes, false positives do sometimes occur and this also happens at any image center and more often than not clients are just grateful for a clean bill of health. That being said our reviews are organic and we have scanned over ******* women over the last 10 years so with that volume we have had an A+ BBB score up until we had a new software implemented that created some delays which brought us to an A. We have a 4.9 ****** rating because women appreciate our easy access, and convenience and our overall mission. We are sorry you have not received your call yet but every person that has a Cat 4 finding does receive a call as a follow up to make sure they have received there results and called their physician or local breast center. The time frame that you reference for your wife is not typical. Most people have to wait a week or more to get an appointment so respectfully we wait a couple weeks to check in with our clients. I am rejecting this response because: your business model to wait a couple weeks to discuss results is horrific. You're correct, our time frame is NOT typical. We were beyond fortunate to get in to a center within a week of receiving your results. I can't imagine how many distressing situations you create for women and their families, only to fail to promptly provide them with a call to offer guidance or a reassessment of the scan by another radiologist. Also, I didn't comment on your BBB grade, I commented on your BBB reviews which put you at 1.21/5 out of 19 reviews. You also didn't comment on the Yelp reviews. I can only imagine that there are likely more people like us who just didn't want to relive the nightmare and decided to let it go, happy they got a clean bill of health. Ultimately, it feels like that is your organization's hope, that people will just be so relieved of their clean bill of health that they don't think to be upset with the false positives, or look into it further to realize how many others are dealing with false positives. I think it only fair we be reimbursed as we must now contend with the expenses of additional hospital bills all due to this incorrect read.

I saw an advertisement for a breast ultrasound that involved no radiation and could detect cancer better than a mammogram. The ad stated this was an $1100 value for only $295. I jumped at the opportunity because my mother's cancer was missed by *********. I signed up and showed up for my appointment at the hotel. I checked in and paid my $295 and the lady directed me behind the screen and had me undress my top half. She came in and I laid on the bed and she started the ultrasound. She quickly took the wand over my breast and then told me to roll and she did the other breast just as fast. She said I was done and that I could wipe off with the paper bed cover. She then told me they would email me. I was a little confused because the ad I read made me feel like the radiologist was going to read my results that day. I waited a few days and then used the chat feature on the HerScan site to find out how to get my results, I also asked who I can talk to about a complaint. I called ***** the general manager and she was very nice and told me they were switching software and that's why the results were taking so long. She also told me she would contact ***** the technician who did my test and talk to her. I was concerned that she never scanned my armpit area and I was not feeling confident in the results because she did the scan so fast. ***** assured me that ***** was seasoned and could do the test fast and get good pictures of what she needed. I got the results and they were pretty generic. I questioned some of the wording, but it said take these results to your doctor a mass was found. I went to my doctor and because of the results I had to have a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound done. These tests were not covered by my insurance because they were diagnostic not screening tests. I was charged $500 out of pocket. They found dense tissue. HerScan claims they find cancer in dense tissue. This company is not truthful about the process. Their test is useless.Business Response

The board certified radiologist clearly thought you needed to have a diagnostic test to rule out any serious issues and it sounds like you followed up and all is well. HerScan does not diagnose so if there is a visible abnormality seen the protocol is further testing. This is true of all screenings no matter where you have the imaging. As for receiving results the same day, this is not the case and has never been advertised anywhere saying this so please reference our website for results information.
