• Advertising Review:

  In August 2024, BBB contacted this business regarding the offering of paralegal services. Per the Florida Bar sse of "Paralegal" in business and business advertising is allowed when a paralegal is registered with the Florida Bar and affiliated with an attorney.  A business may only offer "Document Preparer Services" if they are not affiliated with a FL Bar licensed lawyer. To date the business did not respond or update any of their advertising.
  
  1. Basic Principles of the Code
  1.1 The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.
  1.2 Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used.
  1.3 An advertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literally true.
  1.4 Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring a material fact.
  
  32. Business Name or Trade Style
  32.1 Business names or trade styles must not contain words that would mislead consumers either directly or by implication.
  
  Florida Bar Rules:
  Florida Bar rules state that paralegals must work under the supervision of a lawyer or law firm, and that only lawyers can use the title "paralegal": 
  Rule 4-5.3
  Nonlawyers who use titles like "paralegal" or "legal assistant" must work under the supervision of a lawyer or law firm. 
  Chapter 20
  Only lawyers who are members of The Florida Bar, authorized house counsel, foreign legal consultants, or military lawyers can supervise paralegals. 
  Rule 20-7.1
  Paralegals can perform services for attorneys, but the attorney must supervise the paralegal and be responsible for the client. The paralegal's services must not require independent professional legal judgment, and the attorney must remain professionally responsible for all work. 
  Unlicensed practice of law
  Nonlawyers who use the title "paralegal" without working for a lawyer are engaging in the unlicensed practice of law. The Florida Bar can investigate and prosecute this.
