On January 30, 2024 with a contract we hired Apollo Joe handyman and remodeling LLC to do remodel work in our master bathroom along with delivery of our vanity. His start date for demolition was February 1 ***** at 9:AM On this morning of Feb.1, at 8:47AM *** sent text to my husband ***** that he had a DR. *********** for his son and will be there a little later probably about 10:30 AM. At 11:35 AM he text I'm on my way to your home he arrived at 12 o'clock noon. he showed up to start the job and placed drop cloths from our front entrance through our bedroom into the master bathroom and then asked for half of $5445 for a deposit. We wrote him a check for $2500.00. He then left saying he would be right back. At 3:19 PM he text on my way back. He arrived at 4:40 PM went in the bathroom for 20 minutes and then said I'll be back ************* o'clock. Feb. 2- At 2:PM *** showed up to removed our vanity into our garage with his helper and left. Feb. 5- At 9:AM *** returned to remove tub, knee wall, and shower seat.Feb. 6- No show Feb. 7 - NO show-At 10:49 AM *** text my husband ***** saying that his son had to stay home from school he won't be able to make it to our house Feb. 9- at 1:15 PM *** dropped off at our home wallboard, floor leveler and left. At 6:30 PM later that day *** returned stating that he needs a $1000 check for change order because we added on tile in the shower. This became a problem between my husband and I thinking maybe we should not do the shower and told him we'll let him know more on Monday the 19th.Feb.19- at 12:17 PM we received a phone call stating that *** will not be able to fulfill his contract and this man named ***** would be assuming the work..After that phone call we began looking for another Contractor. We have notified Apollo *** several times that a refund of $2000 is in order.I do have copies of the contract and cashed check file too large to send

The agreement was that the customers were to supply all hard material (tub, vanity, *************) and I would do the labor for waterproofing and demo; for all licensed electrical work another company would be sent out. So far Ive completed demo and did the two vanities, customer only paid $2500 which is the value of work that we did complete up to this point.
There was a change order for shower tile ($900) but they would not sign change order to waterproof the area.
At the time I was in the hospital but sent someone out to do work, when the worker showed up they found the customer did not have materials ready.
When I got out of the hospital, I found the customer did have the materials but did not want me back, and they were seeking a refund.
They also wanted me to come back and do warranty work but since they have not paid for the whole scope of the in full there is no warranty.
Customer kept our tools, will not give back unless we take them to to court.
As a good faith, I offered pro **** work to do the change order only ($900 shower tile), they did not accept because they just want full refund. I cannot just refund the work that was already completed, and they will not let me back to finish the job.
Currently the pro **** offer is not a possibility, but we are willing to discount only the $900 change order work down to $450 AFTER customer allows us to finish out the contract remaining labor. My availability is weekends only because Im are in middle of moving.

I am rejecting this response because: We paid $2500 in advance to begin the project and  we decided to terminate our relationship with this business due to unreliability, the owner of the business had done approx. 7 hrs. of work removing a tub and vanity. No one came to our home representing him, it was a phone call from a person on Feb 19th  saying that they were taking over because Apollo *** could not fulfill his contract. We explain to this person that we are moving on and will be finding someone else to finish our project. This person again called back the next day stating Apollo *** wants him to come to our home to get some things he left behind. We  told this person that Apollo *** needs to contact us because the job was not completed and we feel that $500 was only the amount of work he had done,  $2000 should be returned to us because of his constant no-shows, unreliability and not doing anything else other than removing a tub and a vanity.                          His contract specifically explains everything that was to be done and not even half was completed regardless of any change orders.

    Sincerely,
