While my daughter was able to secure a loan for school fairly easily, the interest rate she received on her loan was 13.84% No wonder so many people still have student loans into their 40's. Despite thousands of dollars in payments she had barely made a dent in the principal. We have assisted her in obtaining a different loan through a more reputable establishment with a much better interest rate.College Avenue Student Loans, LLC

The process is easy but they allow the school to determine what amount you get which should not be as I am the one paying it back. Also the time it takes to give the funds to the school and receive them, is very long.College Avenue Student Loans, LLC

Hi Marsha- We’re very sorry to hear that you aren’t happy with your experience. Private Education loans, like those offered by College Ave, cannot exceed the school’s calculated cost of attendance. The school considers other loans or aid you’re receiving so the cost of attendance is specific to each student. Once the loan is accepted, we send the loan to the school to certify. School certification timelines vary by school and can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks. Generally speaking, the school will certify your loan closer to the beginning of the academic period (term, semester, quarter) that you're borrowing for. After the loan is certified, and the required right to cancel period has ended, the money is sent to the school based on the disbursement schedule set by school. College AveReview fromChelsea T

I am the parent. I co-signed on a student loan with my daughter. She graduated a year ago and we have been paying on her loan. We split the payment and each pay half of the monthly payment. The payment increased by $150 dollars which is fine. We were not made aware of the increase except to receive a harassing call. We then adjusted the payment arrangements as it was the following month that we were informed of the increase. Fast forward about 6 months and my daughter made a larger payment than usual on her last payment in August . She had not made Septembers payment as of yesterday. Therefore this month after payments were made she had a balance of 46.05 past due by 7 days that she was she not aware of. I got a call at my number at 7:45 pm last night 9/12 by a woman who claimed to be a debt collector. She informed me that if a loan is late by 30 days she has every right to call reguardless of the time. I informed her that we were not 30 days past due to which she admitted then to it actually being 7 days. Then she said that college avenue collects its own debt so she did not lie when she first told me that she was a debt collector. She was extremely rude over $46.05 that was 7 days late. All of this to say I wouldn't ever take out a college loan with this company again because of the women on the other end of the phone yesterday, that lied about being a debt collector and lied about the payment being 30 days past due, raised her voice repeatedly and harassed me over $46.05 . We were Sallie Mae customers for the past two years. We switched because even with our excellent credit rating and timely interest payments they would only offer us an interest rate of 7.75%.
