On January 17, 2025 I took an online IQ test through a Facebook advertisement. I was told the cost of receiving my score would be $0.99. I agreed to pay this much however I was directed to a page with only two options, one said continue with a trial access to their full system, and the second stated continue without trial, which I interpreted as declining the full access and only agreeing to the $0.99 charge. This option actually auto enrolled me in their $29.99 two-week subscription. I never agreed to this and this was the result of deceptive and predatory schemes. I have asked for a refund from the company, but they refused. I did not authorize this charge. I am seeking reimbursement for the $29.99 and want to ensure there will be no additional charges on my account. I am willing to let them keep the $0.99 as I agreed to this purchase.Initial Complaint

I purchased a trial subscription for $0.99 from cerebrum. In the pictures I provided you will see their terms state only 99 cent will be charged for the 7 day trial. I have been charged twice to the point I have a returned check fee in my navy federal account for $29 and a negative Balance in my paypal for $19.99. This company is a scam and they shouldn't be in business.Initial Complaint

These frauds run Facebook adverts, you sign up for their service and there is NO way of cancelling. There’s an automated chatbot that keeps on saying: “For support, just use this chatbot. If you'd rather speak to a human, you can contact our customer support team through the chatbot, and they'll help you with your questions.” However, you can’t speak with a human either through this or through email. It keeps on regurgitating the same response. For cancelling it asks for a 5 digit code, which they claim to have sent by email and they haven’t. That means you can’t cancel the so called free trial and 7 days later you will be charged a high weekly fee without being able to cancel. That is in breach of every single consumer protection law in the Western world.Initial Complaint

Win trust owns Cerebrum IQ which is a company that provides IQ tests. When you sign up and authorize a trial you are presented with various upsell options. Even if you don’t opt out of all them - once they have your payment information they immediately cancel your trial and charge you. There are various accounts of this happening to users all across the internet on Reddit, Google, etc. they are a known scam company.Business Response

I took a test on line and had 7 days to accept or reject a weekly charge of 19.95 per week. I elected to not continue and rejected to continue. They charged my credit card anyway, but the card carrier contacted me because it looked suspicious. I told them not to honor the charge. This week they did the same thing. The credit card company has contacted me again and will reject the charge again. I cannot find anyway to reach them by phone, text or email. I don't know how long this will go on but I am not going to pay for anything I did not buy.Initial Complaint

This company wrongfully charged me for a subscription upgrade after I paid for a $.99 trial for an IQ test. The way this is set up, you have to either select or skip their deals on subscription packages before you even confirm the cost of the trial. I skipped all the deals, as I only wanted the results of my test, and confirmed the amount of $.99 to be charged. Once I received my results, I went to check my email to cancel the subscription and saw my welcome email confirming I selected the trial price. However, at the exact same time I also received an email stating that I selected a discounted package and was charged $39.99! I immediately reached after canceling the subscription telling them I didn’t select any package, and I was also inquiring about how it was possible to receive both confirmation emails because in order to select a month subscription I would have had to bypass the trial. Even if I were to have selected an upgrade after I purchased the trial, it wouldn’t have been possible to upgrade and confirm in the time the emails were sent to me. The response I got, never answered my questions nor did they refund the money they charged me for a months worth of service, though i was only subscribed minutes before canceling. They pretty much said, “yes you did select a more expensive package and no we won’t refund your money because our terms are clearly outlined here” and gave a link to their terms. These terms aren’t outlined on the website, nor can you even see prices until you take the test. I find it extremely predatory that no terms are outlined in the pricing selections, and I find it theft to charge a full months price upfront when they tell you it will be 9.99 a week and you cancel before the first day is even over. They also never gave me an account number tracking number or receipt. So it’s a little odd to me how they can be so sure that I definitely decided to purchase their subscription when I was telling them I wasn’t.
