1 starOrder number 1010-1045
I placed a transmission order for my 99 Dodge Ram.
The process has been a complete nightmare. I’ve been dealing with this issue almost a year now. I’ve had (2) transmission sent and installed. Both were no good. This will now be third attempt to get a transmission. I’ve gone a whole year without my truck, going back and forth with the shop and this company. I’ve had to pay labor cost multiple times to shops. I want a refund!!
it’s the right thing to do; bottom line!
Should not make people beg for service.
Wish there where Christian values attached to this business.Car Part Planet

The customer initially had a warranty claim on 03/18/24. A replacement unit was shipped out on 3/19/24. We have sent the shop as well as the customer numerous emails in regards to picking up the defective unit as well as reimbursing labor at $50/hr. The customer emailed us today stating they are having issue with the new unit again. We cannot ship out another unit until the defective unit has been returned. This has been communicated to both the shop and the customer since March. Should the defective unit be ready for pickup and in transit back to us we will issue another replacement unit.Review fromWard H

1 starI ordered a used engine from them. I put in my vin number and they matched me to an engine. I paid for it, including shipping. I get a call almost 2 weeks later saying they dont have the engine I ordered. I say I want a refund then. They are offering me an engine with 4x the amount of miles and double the price I paid. I said no obviously. They sent me a refund minus 10% saying I ordered the wrong part. I did not but they are refusing to send me a full refund.Car Part Planet

This is not the exact order of events. The engine ordered was a 2013 and your vehicle is a 2012 model. As per your incorrect statement, we did not match your engine to the VIN since you placed the order yourself online. Once the VIN was checked by us, it was identified that incorrect part was ordered. The engines are not interchangeable and we explained that to you. We contacted you to ask you if you wanted the correct engine per your VIN number and YOU asked to cancel the order and we obliged. We offered you multiple options but you insisted you wanted the order cancelled. We can ship the incorrect part you ordered, but we cannot guarantee nor warranty it.Review fromBob A

1 starI purchased a remanufactured engine from this company. This was for a car for our daughter and her son. Once our mechanic installed the engine, he noticed that the engine ran very rough. I called the company and was told the mechanic was authorized to make the necessary repairs. The mechanic found several internal parts controlling the timing of the engine that were rusted and worn and had to be replaced with new parts. This was the reason the engine ran rough. In addition, my mechanic also filed a report including photos of the worn and rusted parts. After this the engine still ran rough. The mechanic had to replace the spark plugs Car Part Planet sent. I was informed by the mechanic that the spark plugs sent with the engine were not the right ones for this engine. Once the cheap plugs were replaced with the right ones, the engine ran smoothly. The mechanic informed me that a remanufactured engine should not have had such worn or cheap parts in the first place, parts critical to the engine performance. I have been trying to contact Car Part Planet for three weeks but have not received any return phone calls. I was told they are understaffed, but to wait this long without a reply is beyond belief, and certainly inexcusable. Their website does not work well either. I was to complete a customer profile, but their links (either on the website or via emails) do not work. I am not able to register a complaint or warranty claim, as those links do not work either. I am not even able to arrange for Car Part Planet to pick up the old engine as their website does not work (except for selling an engine or transmission). I am asking for full reimbursement of the additional labor charges associated with the replaced parts and costs for the parts the mechanic had to install in order to get the engine running correctly. I would not recommend anyone purchase and parts from Car Part Planet. Their service and warranty departments appear to be non-existent.Car Part Planet

We appreciate your feedback, however, there are several discrepancies in this review that we will address. The warranty claim was submitted and addressed. We confirmed with Tyler at the repair facility that the customer picked up their vehicle a week ago and there have been no further complaints. The customer has not tried to call or email us since the purchase of the engine. We have checked all of our call logs as well as emails and have not received any communication from them. Furthermore, all communication with warranty are done between the repair facility and the manufacturer's warranty department. Approved labor was for 6.5 hours and this will be paid to the vehicle owner once the invoice for labor has been submitted. Lastly, we would like to address that if the customer was having issued navigating our system, they could have contacted us via phone, text or email and we would have responded back to them immediately. The claim has been handled and the shop is unaware why this complaint is being made since the vehicle owner has had the car back for over a week now. We do hope that should the customer have any further questions or concerns that they reach out to us directly to resolve any matters instead of having to use the BBB as a third party. We are more than willing to assist in assisting the customer.Review fromGreg C

1 starDo Not Purchase from Car Part Planet, unfortunately we had not seen the BBB(Better Business Bureau) reviews before purchasing our Remanufactured Engine from Car Part Planet. We purchased the remanufactured engine on 11-14-22, Engine was installed by our mechanic on 12-28-22. March of 2023(3-2023) we had noticed oil in the driveway and after further inspection we had discovered the whole Transmission, Oil pan, etc. was dripping wet with oil.. After returning the vehicle to the mechanic and filing paperwork to claim the engine warranty(after only 9,500 miles or about 4 months) the process has been quite difficult. Every time we have contacted the phone numbers given on store site and BBB site, we have reached a customer service rep. every time but once directed to the warranty dept. you will reach a voicemail. Even after the last attempt I had specifically asked to speak to someone in management or a supervisor of some sort, employee said yes no problem(then was once again sent to the warranty dept. voicemail). It is obvious they have no intention on simply honoring their own warranty process, they will wait until they are confronted with legal action before entertaining the idea of HONORING their OWN WARRANTY PROCESS... Hope this review reaches as many potential SCAM victims, for it will be copy and pasted every where possible. There is no reason people should have to put up with this, that is why we will be just asking for a refund on our purchase of $4,102 so we can afford to have the seal replaced by the mechanic. This all could of been avoided by properly running a business, if no action is taken after this review, they will receive legal paperwork to cover repairs(or engine) and for Breach of Warranty! Hopefully this issue is resolved in the next few days so we can go back to enjoying our vehicle we have invested so much in the past couple years(with out risking catastrophic engine failure). Like I said this review will be posted elsewhere.....Car Part Planet

Thank you for contacting us. As we clearly state in our website, once warranty claim is submitted all communications handled with the repair facility and not the vehicle owner. Please note, your claim is being handled by the remanufacturer's warranty department. Below is the timeline of all communications.

1 starThese guys are scheisters and liars. I ordered an engine from Joe who gladly took my money and said it was in stock and would ship in 3 to 5 days. I received confirmation but never got a tracking number. After 5 days i called back and Lyin Joe told me shipping department was out but everything was on track and he wpuld call back the next day with tracking information. No call the next day. I called back on day 7 and Joe told me shipping department just arrived he would call me back within the hour. I waited 2 hrs and called back. Lyin Joe was at lunch
The female that answered told me she wluld walk over right now and call me back in 15 mins. 2 hrs later i call back. Young man answers the phone and gets me transferred to Joe. As soon as I identify myself Lyin Joe blind transfers me to customer ser ice who disconnect me after a 17 min hold. I call back and get Lyin Joe who tells me he left me 2 voicemails. I told him that wasnt true. He said oh no, I talked to you yesterday. I told him that wasnt true and he blind transferred me to customer service. Customer service tells me that in fact they sold the engine twice and filled the other order and did not have the engine but I could trust them to build one in 8 weeks. I asked for a supervisor who offered me 100.00 off. I told them i wanted a refund. Supervisors name was also Joseph. This cost me a huge customer that spends 5k a week with me for parts. I am seeking legal remedy and would love for more people to get together and sue these thiefs out of business.Car Part Planet

First, we would like to state that this review was not posted under the real customer's name. We have no orders under Michael Trenkle ([email protected]). The order was placed on March March 21 2024, 4:43:41 pm and customer was advised that only one (1) engine was showing in stock and the availability is not guaranteed (stated on the website). After the order was processed by the system, the shipping department was advised that the engine that was in stock is no longer available and the current ETA is 4-6 weeks. Unfortunately, the engines for 2001 Ford Ranger is not very common, therefore the stock was low. Customer was advised of the ETA, offered a discount for the inconvenience but decided to cancel. Customer was refunded in full on March 27 2024, 2:39:02 pm.Review fromJeremy R

1 starDO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
I made a purchase for a transmission that I was told by George was available and ready to ship. After providing my card information for the purchase of $2,577.00 and confirming the order, I received a phone call from George informing me that they did not have all of the required parts to rebuild the transmission. He stated that they would be able to refund the payment as they were not able to meet the shipping timeframe. I let him know I would need a refund for the purchase since my customer was not willing to wait the extended amount of time. George stated that he would refund the money and that I should receive confirmation on the refund. When reviewing my credit card statement I noticed the amount of the refund was $257.00 shy of the charged amount. When I called back to ask why the full amount was not refunded I kept getting the run-a-round. George was not able to explain why and transferred me to customer service. Customer service was not able to explain why and said they would call back in an hour with an explanation. I have yet to receive a phone call to explain why I was only refunded $2320.00 of the $2577.00.
They will not get any more business from me and I highly recommend this company be shut down for theft of funds.Car Part Planet

1 starI helped my Daughter Hailey Maier buy a motor from this place.(this way they can't say we don't show you as a customer). I looked over the reviews and at first they looked good. It was not until later I found out that's through a company called trust pilot which they have a say in what review is seen and not seen because car parts planet pays for their reviews. Later I found the terrible reviews that would ultimately put me in the same situation. Needless to say I have a junk motor that has water in it and rust inside of motor. This has been exposed to weather and it looks like they put tape on manifold area and shipped. I was very nice and showed detailed pictures of what my concerns were and basically I'm stuck with this motor and will have to send it off to be cleaned and repaired, not to mention dealing with a third party company that they ship motors from. So 2700 basically got me a core. No manifold, exhaust manifold, water ports and other things that would take work to remove instead of leaving on motor. I was aware of the listed items I would not be getting and was ok with that. When I asked them about this they said, well if we leave stuff on their it's for your convenience, sometimes you get that stuff and sometimes you don't. So basically you buy a picture of a motor you think you are getting only to find out you bought a core from who knows where in terrible shape. Very misleading and very poor customer service. Once transaction has been made you are stuck. I've given them detailed pictures and explanation of what I feel is wrong but to no avail, and this was immediately after it had been delivered. So I'm at the point now I will send a bad review every week until this is resolved. Please read the reviews before making a purchase. The tape was hiding the obvious water that was sitting inside motor and spark plug ports filled up with water as well. Absolutely the worst thing I have ever purchased.Car Part Planet

Manifolds and water outlets are external parts and not guaranteed to come with the engines. Hoses are cut and items are removed during disassembly and if they are left on it is for convenience purposes only. Please see our FAQ page to see how the engines are shipped. Seals and gaskets and external items would require replacement before installation as clearly stated on our website.
Residual water may be leftover over from washing the engine as we state they are cleaned prior to shipping. The pictures of the engine that the customer is referencing is of stock photo and not an actual engine. If there is a mechanical issue with the engine we will gladly pick up the engine at our expense. At this time the customer is only stating that the bolt on accessories are not on the engine.
Please attached FAQ page of what comes with our engine
A: Engines come complete, without AC Compressor, Starter, Alternator or Power Steering Pump. Parts left on the engine block are for convenience purposes only.Review fromS H.

1 starCar part planet is a fraud company. They played games with my order and then said I had to email a copy of my drivers license and utility bill for item to be shipped. They hung phone up on me when I refused. I had to file a dispute with my bank. Amount was refunded, but website is still showing part on order. When I called the guy was at home on a speaker phone, heard a dog barking in house and his timeline for transmission kept changing.buyer beware!!!Car Part Planet

Just look at reciew history. Fraud?? You had already taken $$ and still want photos of driver lic and utility billl, when I refused to give it, I was hung up on several times, when first ordering trans, was told it had to be built and would be 4 weeks, then it was all the sudden going to be shipping within a week! Said they were going to send it to my home without asking if I had a way to unload. I was also told on first call the $75 was waived since it was a commercial address and trans could be unload with lift. It was all fraud from the start!! Again just read past reviews! I had to file dispute with my bank because associate decided to keep hanging up on me after I would send him photos of my personal information. I spoke with several individuals about this and all agree it’s fraud based. Please use caution if ordering from this place!!S H.
