On July 6, 2023, had car towed to Shop –On 4th replaced battery Car was not starting. Aamco diagnosed that starter was burnt out maybe from oil leak. Requested that the starter be replace and that the oil leak be repaired- oil leak was from Value Gasket. Repair took a week & a half it cost $2079. Upon return of car when starting the car, it was louder than normal and idling high. Took & fill up gas drove less than 3 miles. Car sat overnight and next morning went to go out while car was warming up the check engine light came on. Took the car to Auto Zone to get light diagnosed was found that it was Idle Air Control Valve which could cause the car to stall. Returned car to shop informed them of issue. They diagnosed the condition to be coming from a small leak in the radiator. I was told that leak was very small & should not be a problem. It went from no problem to a major problem now the Aamco is telling me I need to replace the whole radiator. It has been over 3 weeks and the car is not repaired.
After multiple phone calls Aamco claims that the Idle Air Control Valve is cooled by anti-freeze and that the small leaks must be repaired. They supposedly tried to seal this twice with no success, this was causing the radiator to steam. The only alternative was to completely replace the radiator. This was going to cost about $637.00.
I am disputing the issue with the radiator, and what caused the issue with the Idle Air Control Value.

At the end of April, I brought my Cadillac to Aamco by the referral of my car warranty Carshield to have the engine repaired. Before bringing my car, the manager, **** stated that the diagnostic would be $175. I had carshield tow my car to the location. About May 1, **** called informing that an engine dignostic would be $400. Confused, I questioned why. He then said a regular diagnostic was $225. I stated that he said it was $175. The line disconnected. I called back and left a message. I called back the next day and left another message. The next day, I reached out to the CEO to get clarity on the different prices for a diagnostic.
He said he'd speak with the location. I later get a call from a female stating that the diagnostic is $175. I called **** the next day informing that I would be there to pay the diagnostic to start the repairs. He informs me its $418 because theres a deposit. Something with regard to carshield. I inform him I'll be there to pay because i want the repairs started on my vehicle. when i arrive he tells me carshield usually pays half the cost and i'd have the other which would be around $4k. i explain thats not a problem because i can use my tax refund.
A week and a half later I call to follow up on how there repairs are doing and leave a message. The week after that I inquire again and **** informs me that the guy working on my vehicle is out for the holiday weekend, but no news "good or bad". I ask if he heard anything from carshield, he checks the computer; nothing.
I come home Friday before Memorial Day and receive a letter from Elkton recycling that my car was brought there and bought by them for $400. I can pay $450 to pick it up on 5/23 or a$50 storage fee will be added each day.
I call the recycling center who tell me to call Aaamco. I speak to **** who tells me they didnt sell my car and its still there and the he need to speak to his shop foreman and will call me back. I dont hear back from him as of this date.
