I applied for a 36,000 loan was advised I didn’t have enough credit after advising I just filed chapter 7 bankruptcy and it was discharged on 04.11.25 ( if I just filed bankruptcy how will I have credit history) I advised I have a credit card that’s I’ve had for 6 months in good standing that wasn’t enough I then advised I’ve been at my job will be 15 years this year and that I make 94,000 a year (that still wasn’t enough) I was then offered a loan of 1000 was not aware that this wasn’t a regular loan that I could utilize it was a loan where I pay 80 a month towards 1000 that’s supposed to help me with my credit since this denial I have been approved by a different company for 32,000 and I have a new vehicle and I got approved for a 750.00 credit card that I can utilize…I’m not sure who’s in charge of your company bringing in new revenue and building financial relationships with your customers but this is a prime example of how your company is losing business I understand that with bankruptcy it looks like a risk but sometimes you have to take a risk to make money your organization missed out on 33,000 worth of interest and further business because I even will be looking in the future into purchasing a home which I would have done through your bank but your guidelines that you follow causes me to only want to continue to put 25.00 every other pay for my daughter nothing more

      Thank you,

      Thank you for the
opportunity to respond to the complaint submitted by ******* regarding her loan
      application.
      At Community
Powered Federal Credit Union, we are committed to offering fair and responsible
financial products while adhering to regulatory requirements and sound lending
practices. We understand the frustration that can result in a loan denial and
would like to address the concerns raised in this matter.
      The member applied
for an automobile loan which was reviewed in accordance with our standard
underwriting guidelines, which consider several factors including income,
credit profile, and existing obligations. After careful review, we were unable
to approve the loan request based on those criteria. As an alternative, a
credit builder loan was offered. These loans are designed specifically to help
members establish or improve their credit over time and are not intended for
immediate use as spendable funds. We apologize if there has been any
misunderstanding about the nature of this product.
We understand the member's frustration and respect her decision to work with another financial institution.
While we always aim to provide accessible financial solutions, we must also
ensure all decisions align with regulatory requirements and our responsibility
to safeguard the financial well-being of all members.
      The member has
requested no further contact from the credit union, but she should be advised
that the current products she has with the credit union do receive the required
periodic regulatory information as well as statements.
      We appreciate the
feedback and will continue to use it as an opportunity to improve the member

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my  issue.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have attached the document that the credit union sent me with the key factors that adversely affected my credit score … the first key point that says “serious delinquency is incorrect my bankruptcy was discharged on April 11th this form was sent on April 17th there is no way I would have serious delinquency if I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy which was advised to the rep from the bank at the time of the credit application also time since delinquency is too recent or unknown is also incorrect I filed chapter 13 on November 2023 and converted to chapter 13 on December 2024 so there’s no way the time since the delinquency would be too recent or unknown the document also states number of accounts with delinquency how can I have a number of accounts with delinquency if I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy I’m sure we all know how bankruptcy works the next one is proportions of balances to credit limits is too high on bank revolving at the time that my credit report was ran I had one credit card with a 177 balance so this is incorrect and how can a person have all this with their credit and have a 642 credit score?  I believe if I take this too an attorney that we would be having a different conversation
