      Amtrak charged me twice for one way ticket ****** to ******. I tried to purchase and card was denied. I went to bank and got my card changed. Went home got back online and purchased a ticket. When paying for it the agent said 2 charges $71 and $72.I couldn't understand him to start with and I agreed to a text he'd sent without completely reading it. So it locked me into 2 tickets. I asked if I could use extra ticket and bring a friend. He said you said to cancel first ticket so it's voided but you still owe now for 2 tickets. I said " yes I told you to cancel cause I only need 1 ticket. I asked for Supervisor cause I couldn't understand his English was terrible. His supervisor was easier to comprehend. She repeated what he said. I'm screwed. Why would he sell me 2 one way tickets? He obviously could see one had been purchased

      Terrible all the way this time. We were late getting there no problem but have to leave a day early. Missed a funeral which was so sad for us. Arriving back in ******* all to find out we have to get another room because we had no ride home that fast. Monday called Amtrak and they wanted to offer 200 of the 310 I spent. Terrible why not give me a 12 month voucher for what I spent. When I say just bad all bad. Even could not get the money back from the hotel i didnt stay in because I had to leave ***********

      We took the train from ******* to ******* on a "luxury" train. Save your money!!! The train personnel acted like you were bothering them. **************** was horrible. Bathrooms were dirty. I notified the attendant that the bathrooms needed toilet paper and attention, but still, nothing was done. The cafe's car food was equivalent to a vending machine. The dining cart was a rush in and out. The United States' rail system is nothing in comparison to other countries.

      I am disabled and paid over $1,700 for the auto train from ******* to ********. The accessible room has its own toilet. There was an issue with the restrooms that was to get fixed overnight. I awoke at 5am to sewage sloshing around my room from my toilet. I had no way to get to a restroom or even out of my room until 9am. I breathed into a towel for 4 hours as I sprayed air freshener. It was the most horrific travel experience Ive ever had and it put a damper on my vacation for the week. I tried to contact customer relations several ways and to date they have not spoken to me. The worst part was that I had my car with me and had no choice but to take the train back to *******. I am physically unable to drive the entire distance. I had anxiety the whole trip. O sat for 1.5 hours in line to exit my car - that whole system seems flawed. I just wanted off the train and having it extended 3 hours due to engine problems made it even worse. I am stunned that I cannot get in touch with anyone at customer relations. I will never use ********************** again. Nobody should.

      This is my 7th trip on Amtrak - and each one gets more miserable! The worst part is the ENDLESS delays! Never any updates or explanations....the longest was 5.5 hours....No difference between coach & business classes except assigned seating Bathrooms filthy Seats uncomfortable, no armrests Rude conductors I'll go back to flying or driving - enough is enough

      Not too bad until the end of my journey at ***************. Thats when I discovered my suitcase had been moved from where I left it! Not a big deal until I started to look for it and was very rudely told by the conductor to get off the train! He didnt care. They needed to get going! He said, Amtrak would mail my suitcase to me and he slammed the door and the train left! I have had absolutely no luck tracking it down. The automated responses I get are: Well get back to you in 3 to 7 business days . I would NEVER recommend anyone using Amtrak!

      This is ridiculous to have to pay all this money to ride on a train with no air conditioning a one way ticket is 80 dollars to ******** and there is no air.

      The only reason Amtrak remains in business is bc they have a monopoly on the entire American rail system thank you for choosing Amtrak like we had another choice. Just took my 10th Amtrak trip and not ONCE has it been on time, usually 30 minutes to 120 minutes behind schedule which causes me to miss my next mode of transport :) 12 hours and the only food options is microwave hamburger with 250% of your daily sodium :)

      The employees drink the alcohol on the train and others give away full size bottles on the Acela train. Theres a lot of smoking marijuana outside at the crew base and nothing is done. I thought it would be a good place to work, well it isnt. Its not all what they tell you in orientation and or at the interview. Worst mistake I made going to work there.
