    CN C20231204540 I am writing to file a complaint against ** Building Products for their failure to honor the warranty of their ** SmartSiding product installed on my residence in *********, ** in 2011.During the construction of our new home in 2011, my wife and I made the conscious decision to invest in ** SmartSiding due to its advertised 50-year warranty. This warranty provided significant peace of mind and assurance of the product's longevity.Recently, while undertaking an addition to the house, our contractor discovered widespread deterioration of the ** SmartSiding .Significant splitting and cracking was observed on the lower sections of the siding. This significant damage is entirely unacceptable for a product marketed with such a lengthy warranty.The yard we bought it from directed me to **. Unfortunately, ** referred me to the company which previously applied the paint to their siding. However, this paint supplier no longer maintains a relationship with ** and refused to acknowledge any responsibility for the issue. However, after a cursory assessment based on photos alone, ** denied warranty coverage, claiming the damage falls outside the scope of their warranty. This dismissive response without a proper on-site inspection is deeply concerning and demonstrates a lack of customer care.The observed deterioration of the ** SmartSiding after only 12 years of service contradicts the promised 50-year warranty and significantly impacts the aesthetic and structural integrity of our home. We are not only disappointed in the performance of the product but also frustrated by the dismissive and inadequate response from **.Therefore, I request the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter and intervene to ensure ** fulfills its warranty obligations and provides a satisfactory resolution to this issue. My desired outcome is either a full replacement of the defective siding or a complete refund for the purchase and installation costs.
