I entered a contractual agreement with Booca Paving in April 2023. In order to begin work on our driveway, 50% of the total payment was required and a check in the amount of $15,000 was issued and cashed by Booca Paving. The following items were agreed to by both parties- removal of existing asphalt, regrade existing base, fine grade base material and compact, deliver process stone as needed and compact, install asphalt, install trench drain using crushed rock underneath for drainage and 1 tube at the end used for an exit port for the water. There would be one drain tube to show through the grass, and the repair of damaged grass or topsoil. The company's lead team member called me to start work on the asphalt despite expecting rain later in the week. I asked him to start paving earlier to avoid doing the job in bad weather, and he told me that he would come to my house anytime that he wanted to in order to get the job done. I immediately called the company and I spoke with their office assistant who acknowledged that their team leader was out-of-line. After this incident, we agreed that the work would be supervised by an outside party and that the office manager/assistant would be present to make sure that their staff refrained from any further ill- behavior. Three days prior to installation of the asphalt, we experienced torrential rainfall and the compacted pavement had been unroofed exposing the earth beneath it. When we reached out to Booca Paving to address the matter and to understand how they were going to correct it, they told us that they could no longer work with us. We have been unable to get in touch with Booca Paving to make the repairs and to complete the paving. We also do not have an outflow drain in our yard for the drains that were installed, photos that crushed rocks were placed with the underground drains, and they left the apron behind at the bottom of our driveway (when all of the asphalt was to be removed).
