We hired Mr. C****** of Antares Design to remodel our kitchen. He directed us to choose cabinets and a counter from ********* in ********. We worked with the people at ********* to formulate a design of the kitchen layout, and we chose the ******** cabinet brand and ****** quartz countertop through *********. The contract specified that Mr. C****** would order ******** cabinets and ****** quartz countertop as we selected. We were under the impression that Mr. C****** was going to order these through *********, but after the installation, we asked for an order number and receipt, so we could fill out the warranty information for the cabinets, and we found out from contacting ********* that Mr. C****** had not ordered them from *********. Mr. C****** agreed to provide us with this paperwork, but after several requests over two weeks, he did not comply with our request for paperwork stating the brand and source of the cabinets and counter. We are therefore unable to determine if the brands specified in the contract were the ones that were ordered, or if lesser quality cabinets were installed instead. In addition, we had agreed with Mr. C****** to use water-based polyurethane on the refinished wood floor, but he decided to use oil-based polyurethane instead without letting us know about this change, necessitating us to vacate our house for a week on short notice. We trusted Mr. C****** to complete the work as specified in the contract, but we now have cabinets and counters of unknown origin and quality in our home.

Definitely a mix-up, ***** ***** hired me to make design and renovate her kitchen, and I start guiding her to get the best result, I told her the quality cabinets are made from hardwood and Plywood sides, I work by catalog but Julie told me that she wanted to see in person to choose a style of the cabinet because she had one in mind, so I told her that my supplier is located far from her house but I know a place where she could choose the style and color. So I suggest her *********, only to choose the type and countertop. The ****** never told me they want to get materials from *********; my job is doing layout and design to order materials for Installation. I order high-quality cabinets plus the Quartz they wanted, never a different countertop.

I always use high-quality material, I have been doing work for more than 20 years, and 100 % of my customers are from word of mouth, which means I have been doing Quality.

    Customer Answer

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:The contract stated that ******** cabinets were the brand that were going to be ordered. We repeatedly requested the receipt and order number for the cabinets in order to apply for a warranty from the cabinet company, and Mr. C****** said he would provide it, but did not provide this documentation, which made us suspect that ******** cabinets were not ordered. We called the ******** company, and they said their cabinets have a marking on the side of the drawer. We searched multiple drawers and cabinets, but there were no markings. We are concerned that the cabinets that were ordered and installed were not the cabinets we agreed to in the contract and which we paid for. This is a breach of contract. Mr. C****** still has not given us paperwork proof for what brand of cabinets were installed or where he bought them.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****
