    I signed up for a trip to Hawaii with The Yoga Shop, signed a reservation form 7/28/21, paid a $700 deposit. Check was cashed 8/9/21. • 8/20/21 texted Annie S*****, let her know I wouldn’t be able to work the front desk at The Yoga Shop. She had offered this position as a way to defray the cost of classes. • 1/25/22 sent email to Annie apologizing for missing the next installment for the trip and hoped I was still able to go. Offered to pay balance in full. • Texted her 1/30/22 as I hadn’t heard back from my email. Asked if still be able to go on the trip. She replied that we talked way back when and I told her I wasn’t able to go. She offered to put me on a wait list and I would be first to fill any vacancy. My reply was I didn’t recall saying I didn’t want to go, only that I wouldn’t be participating in Yoga Teacher Training, or work at the front desk. I asked for a refund of my deposit. • Again texted Annie on 1/31/22, asked if we could speak on the phone. Spoke on the phone, and I asked if she had any email or text from me cancelling my spot, or when we might have had a conversation about this. She acknowledged that she didn’t have anything in writing but was certain that I had told her verbally. Again, I don’t recall any conversation where I cancelled. She said she would contact other travelers to confirm they all still intended to go, and I could fill any empty place. • Since I hadn’t heard back since that time, I sent another email 3/10/22 requesting a refund. Copy of the email and Annie’s reply attached. • I want to add that I feel terrible about how this has evolved. I truly believe this is the result of misunderstanding about my not participating in Yoga Teacher Training and not working the front desk. I did not intend to cancel my spot. $700 represents a lot of money to me. I guess I just don’t understand why, if all places are filled on the trip, my deposit can’t be refunded. Thank you very much for any assistance you can provide.
