Nancy Newman is a realtor for Keller Williams Realty in West Hartford, CT. We, and others we have spoken with, have found Ms. Newman to be completely untrustworthy. She regularly lies to customers. We were prepared to rent a condo from one of her customers but requested painting be done and the floors refinished because the floors were disgusting. She told us the painting was done, but when we looked in the windows the painting was NOT done so we texted her. We were told everything would be done by September 30 and it was NOT. Since we did not close on our house as anticipated, we exercised the contingency clause both parties had agreed upon to cancel the lease. THAT was a good decision. The landlord and realtor have been nothing but trouble and we still haven't received our first month rent or deposit back even though we never moved in. After a month of calls and texts, they offered our deposit but refused to give us the first month rent, but since the offer to return our deposit came after the 30 day window, we informed them that they now owed us double the deposit (per CT law). They refused then to return our deposit. We had to file a small claim suit to which they tag team motions for continuance so we have now lost two court dates. In HER motion for continuance she stated that we had not returned her voice mails, but OUR phone records indicate that she never called us. Once again she lied, this time in a court document. She knows no shame. Whatever you do, stay away from THIS realtor and, by extension, the firm with which she works.
