- Advertising Review:In September 2023, BBB contacted Cousin's Concert Attire regarding claims in its advertising.
Its website states "Made in the USA. All of our women’s separates, dresses, choir robes and marching band shirts are designed and manufactured in the United States, in Historic Philadelphia" and "Because we are not a reseller and manufacture our own robes, we guarantee to use top quality components, including zippers and padding." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, Made in USA and similar terms used to describe the origin of a product must be truthful and substantiated. An advertiser must not express or imply that a product or product line is exclusively Made in USA unless all or virtually all of the product is made in the U.S. All significant parts and processing that go into the product must be of U.S. origin. That is, the product should contain no — or negligible — foreign content. BBB requested that the business clarify and substantiate its made in USA claim but did not receive a reply.
Its "Low Price Guarantee" states "It is our commitment to provide you with the best value, at the best price. We value your business and strive to keep our prices low, and SAVE you money!" When using the term guarantee in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the guarantee can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location or viewed on the advertiser’s website. BBB requested more information about the terms of this low price guarantee but did not receive a response.
