I took my daughter for a haircut appointment a few weeks ago during which we asked about coloring her hair. We were told it would be $50 an hour to test her hair (which I paid). After the appointment, we scheduled the appt and the stylist told us the color correction would be $60 an hour and would take approx 5 hours to complete. While my daughter and I both thought it was a lot; I agreed as she’s been wanting to do this for a long time (and after searching, found the average price per hour for color correction is between $50-$100 per hour); so we booked the appoint. There wasn’t any other discussion that day about total price; just the mention that the actual color correction was higher than the testing fee; by $10 an hour. I dropped off my daughter for her and left her with my debit card since I would be attending a funeral later in the afternoon. When she was told the bill at the end, she thought she heard $500, but it was loud in the studio and she couldn’t hear her clearly and she figured the she had heard incorrectly…. After paying, my girls reviewed the receipt in the car and saw that it was $914! They immediately went back in questioning the receipt and were told that color correction is actually $160 an hour (times 5 1/2 hours) for a grand total of $880 for her hair to be colored (the last 30 minutes at least was blow drying - at a price or $80 for the half hour)! I msgd the stylist who assured me the manager would call me back. The manager called me back and was not helpful at all, she just kept explaining that color correction is $160 an hour for the whole appointment, no matter what part of it is correcting, washing or drying., etc. and that I would need to speak with the owner; who was due back from vacation this week. Unfortunately, he has yet to return my calls; so come Monday I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and the ******** ********
