I brought my car to Laurel Hill auto in the end of July to have an evap problem taken care of. Less than two months later the same lights came back on. I brought it back to Laurel Hill automotive. They told me I just needed a new gas cap and changed me $87 dollars. When I picked up my car I noticed there was a lot more gas in my car from when I dropped it off. The very next day my lights came back on.and my car wasn’t running smooth. When I originally dropped it off my car was riding very smooth so I went back Laurel hill auto and Mark was rude to me. He asked if I got gas yet. I said I have 3/4 of a tank so no. He said no you don’t without even looking at my gas tank. He told me that I needed to get gas to reset the system and he erased my lights. I asked him if he got gas in my car the day prior he said definitely not. He told me I needed brakes soon. He said to me don’t worry this car will run forever. I just had a customer drop me off a car just like yours with 750,000 miles on it. It made me feel very uneasy because my car was running, smooth prior to him, touching it, and I almost feel like he may have taken some of my parts for his car he just received because like I said it was running just fine Prior to bringing to him So the very next day after he erased the lights the lights came back on in my car. I brought it back down there and. told him I’d like money back and he said to give me the keys because he wanted to check it out. I told him at this point I really didn’t trust him and I just wanted my money back. But he talked me into at least bringing it for a test drive with me in the car. So I made an appointment with his receptionist. The day of my appointment I came in, and he told me that the receptionist never told him about you coming in. And he was very short and rude with me and insisted I need a new brakes. I have since brought my vehicle to a different Mechanic. He says oh I definitely don’t need brakes. But I need a tuneup and a pump for my evap heyBusiness response

Has had my car for a while now about early May and it was fixed but the part didn’t work and now I’m getting the runaround no communications. I feel like they’re trying to avoid me and I feel like there’s more to the situation that they’re telling me. Like something happened to my car I’ve contacted the warranty place and the mechanic shop that my car is at several times with no solution. I’ve had different stories. Every time I called from various people there and the owner. It would be one thing if they communicated even if they didn’t know a timeline. Last time they called about two weeks ago they stated that they try to replace the transmission four times but no luck and then try to ask me if I messed it up the last time. They fix the transmission with a belt and test drove it, and it was working fine until the belt broke and now my car supposedly doesn’t work.Business response

This customer's complaint is valid however it is not at the fault of us.
The parts we have repeatedly gotten for her car have not been properly functional.
We have the new transmission and the vehicle will be worked on begining first thing in the morning on 9/5/23. Repair should be completed by EOD unless unforeseen circumstances arise.
We will be in contact with the customer directly.

I had taken my car into their shop for a simple oil change that they had assured me they would be capable of doing on the type/model I have….not even a day later a huge amount of oil is leaking and leaving big poodles underneath my car aswell as a weird sputter sound…I take it back and I was told it was the filter…I was told they had either not used the right kind or not put it back the right way…which I did not make a fuss about…however my car started smoking a couple days later…from the front and back…and I had let them know..Mark told me that it was soooo weird and that I should bring it back in again…he proceeds to tell me it’s the valve cover at this point and I agreed to let them fix it…it’s now almost 2/3 months later…several back and forth trips to his shop…..smoke is still coming out of both ends, car won’t start…I gave up on taking it back after the valve cover replacement because it was still smoking out both ends…may be trusting…but I am not that stupid…I will never take my car to this shop again..heck I’d never take my peddle bike…(I have multiple pictures, receipt, and video evidence)Business response

We are unwilling to provide a refund or promise to a refund without sufficient evidence. We have yet to learn what is wrong with the vehicle and again have not heard anything from the customer since this complaint was initiated.
Mark attempted to contact her once and all ****** did was yell, scream, and threaten him.The pictures did show oil on the catalytic convertor however we can not be sure that it was caused by us and we are still not aware of any info on the situation besides the complaint filed with BBB initially.

I brought my car in due to *** *** being booked and when I arrived they said I would be getting a rental, to call back tomorrow. I didn’t receive answers until a few days later. I arrived and I had to wait an hour because they couldn’t fine my keys. They found them but the mechanic had them and he was out of town. So I left came back in 40 mins. I got my vehicle and parked and today I decided to drive it and the car smoking. I ope the hood and the oil cap off. Oil all over my engine. I brought my car back to confront the issue and he told me to get out the shop and the owner stated that they never touched. Which they had to because it was part of the diagnosis of my car. The owner was very nasty and seem like he was racist due to the fact I’m a minority.Business response

The customer brought the vehicle into our business with an expired warranty from ******, we did a diagnosis based off their request however we did not make any repairs are change anything in the vehicle to have caused him any issues.
We will address the 'lost' key issue with our staff.
We are not a racist business, we have dealt with this family before on multiple occasions and everytime they visit us their is magically an issue.
We will offer a refund of the diagnostic charge that we charged. The customer will need to come into our business to receive a check.
Thank you,
