We hired Equity Construction & Design & Ray R**** to do a small tile shower job. Ray R**** (goes by Director of Operations) performed the majority of the work. Equity won the bid because we needed it done quickly and Ray R**** said he’d be done in a week but it took him a month. The plumbing Ray R**** installed was leaking inside the wall and would only deliver lukewarm water. There was no gasket or waterproofing behind the valve handle trim kit. There were many holes where no grout was applied, and the corners, bottom, and sides of the threshold and curb had no grout or caulk at all leaving exposed backing board. The plumbing wall was concave. In some places, tiles were shimmed with scraps and made almost no contact with the backing board. The top plate of the threshold hung over so much on each side creating trip hazards. Tiles were installed on non-waterproof sheetrock on the entire top portion of the shower. The caulk job where the tiles meet the ceiling was a mess and had holes in it. Numerous tiles were not even close to being on the same plane and were either sticking out or recessed, and many tiles were touching each other. Ray used grout where tiles should have been and set the drain out of square. We were left with a layer of dried grout on the entire shower and dried grout all over our sink. Poor and faulty tile and grout work left us without a waterproof shower. We had to rip out Ray R****’s work and start all over again.

****** works for ****** * ***** which is an organization that helps veterans. We gave her and her husband a great price to repair a shower as we are a veteran owned and operated small business. After receiving final payment for work completed, she decides she wants a refund but would not let us see any defective work as she claims. We offered a full refund with the stipulation that neither party disparages the other. She refused. Jackie took us to court and the judge dismissed the case. Since then Jackie has bad mouthed up all over the internet. She and her husband had intentions of scamming us from the start. Its a shame that a woman that works for an organization geared towards helping veterans is scamming a veteran. If only her employer knew.
