Joseph S**** from Bartol Heating and Cooling inflated his invoice to me for services that were not rendered. I agreed to pay the accurate amount which was confirmed by my contractor and myself. Joseph then threatened me in email to file a frivolous mechanic lien on my property.

I contacted BARTOL Heating and cooling on a recommendation from another heating and cooling company because I needed a company that could fix a gas fireplace. The renter in the house I have in ******** ** simply said the gas fireplace wasn’t working. So I contacted Bartol and they went to the property. While at the property the tenant complained of something entirely different and the service man from Bartol proceeded to rack up a bill without my knowledge. The tenant complained of noisy pipes. TheBartol HVAC man investigated and found The air eliminator had a 1/2” black cap. He removed the cap, air came out and ran all zones. Then he adjusted boiler settings and charged me without my knowledge $436. The invoice states the initial hour of $135 $125 of labor for the technician and $75 for the helper. These were never discussed with us. My husband said did you fix the gas fireplace and he said no I fixed something else. Initially my husband was told the thermopile was bad and needed to be replaced. We were quoted $223.48 plus labor. Part had to be ordered. Once the thermopile was fixed the technician (parts and labor (300.60) realized the gas valve did not work. At the point the gas valve was replaced, labor 1.5 hours and bill was sent to us. Parts and labor $437.08. In the end I am being charged an additional $436 for work that was done without my authorization or knowledge. I have an outstanding bill of $737.68. But I think fixing the gas fire place should have been done. And the boiler, I should have been contacted about before work was done. When I contacted the Bartol HVAC I was calling to discuss and pay my bill and I was screamed at and hung up on. He threatened to go to the property and pick up the parts that were installed.
