• Advertising Review:

  In April 2023, BBB contacted 2 Young Studs Moving regarding claims in its advertising.  The business responded but did not address, substantiate, or modify the claims brought to its attention by BBB.
  
  At its website is a square graphic with the statement "A+ rating."  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser.  Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring a material fact.  Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. BBB requested that the business explain who has assigned an A+ rating to 2 Young Studs Moving and add this information to its website. 
  
  Its website lists its Massachusetts Local Authority Certificate/License as 31595.  BBB was unable to confirm this and requested that the business provide written proof of current licensing issued the state of Massachusetts.
  
  The company's listing at angi.com states "With an A+ Rating by the BBB, you can trust that we are a local company with a great reputation to protect."  Its listing at greatguysmovers.com states "2 Young Studs Moving takes pride in providing exceptional customer service for every job it performs, as evidenced by its A+ rating with the BBB."  While a non-BBB accredited business may advertise its BBB grade rating, it must be accurate and done in a media that can be immediately changed if the rating changes.  Because 2 Young Studs Moving does not currently have an A+ rating, BBB requested that it make adjustments to its advertising.
  
  The business states on its website that "We also offer the best insurance protection available in the industry."  Advertisers must not deceptively or falsely disparage a competitor or competing products or services in their advertising. Truthful comparisons using factual information may help consumers make informed buying decisions, provided the advertiser can substantiate all claims made. BBB requested that the business provide proof of this claim or consider modifying it.
  
  Its listing at yelp.com states "2 Young Studs Moving does the most volume of moving jobs in Connecticut.." and "To date the moving company does more volume in its area than any other mover."  Superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests.  BBB requested substantiation for these claims.
