On June 14th I purchased 4 brand new tires from Naugatuck Tire and Automotive. When I made the appointment the day before I was told they only had one other appointment earlier in the day so I assumed they weren't busy. I was told it would take 45min-1hr to replace my tires with the new set. To my surprise they finished very quickly in exactly 33mins. I paid and got in my car to leave. When I accelerated the car suddenly sounded very loud as if there was no exhaust on it. I immediately pulled right back in and went inside to tell them something was wrong, they put my car back on the lift on the right side of the garage which is the lift rhat comes from the floor they used to install the tires, then they moved it over to the left side, which is an overhead lift, I think to get a better look underneath. A few minutes later someone came out to tell me that a rusted flex pipe had a small hole in it and there's no way to know if it was their lift that caused it- they said the lift gets close the the exhaust system but doesn't touch it. They said it was bound to happen due to the rust and that I should get it replaced at a muffler shop. I went down the street to ***** and upon inspection the broken part was actually a flange on a y-pipe that is connected to a catalytic converter and would cost $909.00 to replace. Their exhaust specialist said it was absolutely damage caused by the lift being used improperly at the tire shop. It appeared that the part was pushed up on from underneath causing the flange to snap apart, they were rushing. They even gave me permission to gave the tire shop call them to discuss the issue, however, I have not been able to get in touch with the owner of Naugatuck Tire and Automotive, I have called nearly every day for a week and I'm told he is not in right now and that he will call me when he is but he never calls. I'm upset they are ignoring me when they know they broke this part on my car and they need to refund me the money I paid to fix it.
