  In May 2024, BBB contacted Contemporary Wellness Med Spa regarding clams in its advertising.
  
  Its website states "We offer Skin Better Science, a medical grade, prescription strength skin care that is FDA approved and clinically proven to improve the overall look and feel of your skin as well as provide a more youthful look" and "Our professional grade whitening gel is an organic plant and mineral based product with built in enamel building qualities. The active ingredients are safe and effective. The whitening equipment is FDA approved, organic, vegan, gluten free and never tested on animals."  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.  The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these claims.
  
  Its advertising includes many health benefit claims related to the ingredients and treatments offered at its facility.  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  For medicinal and therapeutic claims or claims to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any illness or disease, scientific clinical evidence from human clinical trials is preferred to support these claims.
  Below is a sample of some of the health benefit claims in Contemporary Wellness Med Spa's advertising:
  "IV therapy can be as basic as a of bag fluids to extensive as vitamins and additives for nausea, migraines, dehydration, immunity, anxiety, depression, joint and tissue recovery and much more."
  "We offer a variety of vitamins that we have researched and have been tested and have helped alleviate symptoms of depression in some individuals."
  "Mild cold symptoms or feeling under the weather? Traveling for business or pleasure? Try our sick day/immune boosting IV blend. Packed with vitamins specifically aimed at boosting your immunity."
  "Benefits of IV Hydration: faster delivery, 100% absorption, prevent illness, decrease symptoms of illness, restore vitamin levels, rehydrate with electrolytes, restore energy, detox your liver and so much more."
  "PRP can enhance collagen and elastin production in deeper skin levels. Microneedling with PRP effectively treats acne scars, surgical scars, wrinkles, and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, large pores, uneven skin texture irregularities, and it helps to decrease the appearance of stretch marks." 
  The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these claims.
