The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government’s allegations, which have not yet been proven.
On January 4, 2024, The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in conjunction with the State of CT Attorney General filed suit against Chase Nissan, LLC dba Manchester City Nissan (MCN) along with several of its officers. In a press release, FTC indicated that a complaint had been filed alleging that MCN has been charging its consumers junk fees in violation of the FTC new CARS rule. Specifically in this case, the junk fees are said to have been certification fees, add-on products, and government fees to which consumers had already rejected or were completely unaware of. This matter is currently pending.
