We spent over 2000 dollars on a perfectly great wedding dress. I brought it to Velinda who still uses the old owners name and she stated that Krystinia would be back to work on it. She asked for our money right up front. On our fitting she messed up the dress so much that we had to find someone else. We have photos that prove she made holes in the wedding gown and also dyed it blue in some spots. When I went to kindly ask for the money back since now we have to get 1000 dollars of work done that not even the designer didn’t even quote before, the lady who I’m filing the complaint with changed her name and hung up on me. When I called again to finish the conversation she changed her name again. She scammed me and refused to let me take off my dress and threw a fit when I asked to get out of my dress and take it somewhere else. She ruined my dress. The seamstress that I now am seeing said the lady before, “Velinda” who also called herself Kimberley and Casey, she ruined my dress.

On Saturday May 31, 2025, ******* and ******* *********** came into Amazing Tailoring and Alterations  ( formerly *** *******) with what I later recognized to be a designer sample wedding dress. The dress was purchased at ******* ******* where they often sell designer samples for a fraction of regular wedding gown prices. ******* *********** seemed concerned as I was the one to greet her and not Krystyna L*********. I explained to her that Krystyna was not in shop as she was recuperating from surgery and we did not know when/if she would be returning anytime soon. I told ******* and ******* that if they did not feel comfortable with me doing the alterations instead of Krystyna, I would understand but if they chose to have me doing the alterations,  I am more than qualified.  At no time did I indicate that Krystyna would be doing any work on ****** dress.. They agreed to have me do the alterations. I pinned the dress and we set a followup date for ****** fitting for July 5. I did the alterations to the dress, realizing that it was not a manufacturer item because the straps were stitched inside the dress with hand stitches, instead of being stictched within the dress seam as is customary for manufactured dresses. Before the July 5 fit date, I called **** to reschedule her fitting as I wanted to close the shop for the holiday. She and Her mother ******* agreed to come Thursday July 3rd. When they arrived for the fitting and **** put the dress on; it was big on her and I immediately asked had she lost weight to which she replied that yes, she had lost 10 pounds. At that point ******* became very upset and said she wanted to take the dress and depart. I didn't understand what the issue was except, maybe, she was afraid she was going to have to pay extra to have the dress re-altered. After talking to them for a few minutes, I waived any fee to re alter the dress and I completed repinning the dress.  ******* then put her mother of the bride dress on and I pinned it for hemming. ******* then paid me for the hem for her dress and we set the date for ****** next fitting and for ******* to pick up her dress. Much to my surprise, 2 days later on Saturday, July 5, I got a call from ******* stating she was coming to pick up both dresses and that I did not need to refund them for the alterations I had completed on ****** dress but definitely she wanted the money back she had paid for her hem. She and her husband met me at the shop an hour or so later and her husband asked me to reimburse them at least $200. I said I would not because everything I promised had been fulfilled. It was not my fault **** lost 10 pounds which is the equivalent of roughly 1 dress size and the dress did not fit her. I refunded ******* the amount of the hem.. **** asserts that I dyed her dress blue in some places. We do not dye garments here nor do we possess blue dye. I sew a small bit of blue thread under a button on the dress if the button serves the purpose of holding a bustle. I sewed a small bit of blue thread under one of the buttons on ****** dress but no other blue was added to her dress. As the dress she purchased was a designer sample and not a manufactured dress, it inherently has construction flaws. I offered to re alter the dress for her multiple times. She did agree to have me re alter the dress as well as dropped off another dress for altering and then changed her mind. I have satisfied my obligation to the customer as the alterations i promised were completed.
