I booked Nicholas Photography for a 30 minute shoot for my daughter & To photograph my daughter’s birthday party. The first bad experience was when I discussed a price for my daughter’s shoot several weeks before booking so I was able to budget for it. Once I was ready to book I was told that the price increased since my inquiry. Despite this being an inconvenience I paid what he asked. Secondly, I had a delay in shipping time for my photoshoot props and I contacted him 2 days before our session to ask if my shoot could be rescheduled to the upcoming Monday. I was told that I would be charged $40 because “all studio photographers are busy”. Their website and policy make no mention of this apparent “squeeze in fee”. This form of accommodation is unprofessional at best. At this point I was completely dissatisfied with the customer service I received. In my opinion, If photographers are unavailable, they’re just unavailable but to try and make a profit because a customer wants to reschedule especially when the customer s gives you advance notice is just distasteful. These two combined instances raised the price of my daughters shoot close to $200. For a 30 min 1 year old shoot. I was willing to lose my deposit over this unprofessional interaction. To make matters worse. I sent him a $80 deposit to take pictures at my daughters birthday party. He never showed up. I requested for my money to be returned to me because I did not cancel his service for my event. And still haven’t received it. Truly an unfortunate experience and I would just like to have my $80.00 refunded.
