Scott came out and had given us a quote. He came across professional and knowledgeable. We were excited to move forward with him to redo our roof. Signed a contract and set a start date. Began booking other things as we are trying to list our house on the market soon. Start date (May 5th) was pushed back for rain, understandable. May 6th came around and they were behind on a job and it was going to rain that afternoon. Once again we understood and agreed on the next start date Monday, the 9th. Sunday night we received another text stating Monday that they could not start because they were able to get a crane they've been waiting for. Although frustrated we again understood and were empathetic to the situation. We stressed the importance of doing this roof and how changing the date did not only inconvenience us but also those we had to push back as well. We were told a crew would be there Tuesday the 9th. We were informed that once again they would not be here to start because they still needed to finish from the previous day and was told there would be a crew here tomorrow the 11th. Today we received yet another text canceling due to most of the crew being out sick. Who wouldn't be empathetic to that? Of course we would understand. We were more frustrated with the end of the text. "My apologies for wasting your time and I wish you the best of luck with another company." If this company wanted to continue business with us then why not try to schedule once the crew was better? Why not say I know we signed a contract but what would you like to do, wait it our or try to find another company? My hope is that these were coincidental as we all know life happens. I would encourage the company to reflect on the situation and try to do better for future clients. I do not write this to bash the company. That is not my intention. I just want to be honest with our experiences and hope that this can be a teachable moment for all.

I'm truly sorry for canceling your roof replacement. In the residential roofing industry work can sometimes get very hectic and at times work can feel overwhelming. We've had a lot of difficulties to overcome this year. We have had supply issues, multiple price increases and at times I was shorthanded. More recently we had issues with not being able to get our rented equipment on time, we had multiple days of bad weather, and then several employees called out sick after they tested positive for corona virus. I understand that none of these issues are because of you, I'm only mentioning these issues again to let you know the reasoning behind our delays. I was delayed 5 days from the original start date of May 5th, and you made it clear with me that it was unacceptable, however in our defense I can not leave a customer's roof unfinished to start a new roof. I now see that I misread what you wanted. I'm very sorry that I canceled your Roof project. I have learned a lot from this experience, and I can thank you for that. I will do better in the future at explaining my situation.
