I live in ***** **** ******* condo complex managed by John ********** of White and Katzman. I had a pipe bust on 6/28/23. I filed a claim with my insurance company and notified John ********** the same day. My insurance company paid me $5,000 for the demolition. Anything above that amount becomes the responsibility of the condo complex because their insurance became the master insurance. I contacted Connecticut Restoration, which has been bought out by White and Katzman, and was told it would take $3,400 to $4,000 to fix the property, although I never received a written proposal. All the above information was conveyed to John ********** in a timely manner. I sent him the ServPro bill on August 8. Since then he refuses to answer my emails or voicemails and neither has he notified the Condo Board. The ServPro bill for the demolition was $2295.31. If we use $4,000 for the restoration part of the project, it would only cost the condo complex $1,295 to fix my property, once I turn over the $5,000 to White and Katzman. Yet John ********** has not scheduled the repairs. I have been patient, but I not only feel unfairly treated, discriminated against because I am an older single female and also afraid of mice getting into the exposed insulation now that cooler weather is returning. I don't know what else to do except to start filing complaints. I would like $1,295 so I can finish the repair.
